Lord, along my journey,
to get closer to You
there were lots of obstacles
I had to maneuver through.
You took me down the road,
of sorrow and grief
so I would learn to turn
to You for peace and relief.
You put me on the path,
of heartache and loss
so I would know the pain
of carrying my own cross.
You brought me to places,
I did not want to go
so that Your mercy
I’d truly come to know.
Lord, along my journey,
of hope and salvation
You always had for me
a joyful destination!
~~~~~
“For I know the thoughts
that I think toward you,
saith the Lord, thoughts
of peace, and not of evil,
to give you an expected end.”
