Faith That Defends ~

Faith that defends,
is one that destroys
all of satan’s lies
he daily employs.
It’s a faith that stands up,
for God’s absolute truth
for it knows satan spews
only deceit and untruth.
Faith that opposes,
is one that eliminates
all of satan’s falsehoods
he worldly incorporates.
It’s a faith that is strong,
in knowing God’s Word
for it can discern heresy
when ever it’s heard.
Faith that defends,
opposes and rejects . . .
knows satan fiery arrows
the truth can deflect!

Adjusting My Armor ~

Sometime my armor,
needs to be adjusted . . .
for with inattentiveness
it starts to get encrusted.
So with the Word of God,
my whole armor I lubricate
and with faithfulness
I grease up my breastplate.
Sometimes my armor,
needs fortification . . .
for I start to lose for God
my heartfelt appreciation.
So I take all the Verses,
enriched with gratitude
and enshroud my helmet
with a praise filled attitude.
Sometime my armor,
gets bent all out of shape . . .
so I apply the Gospel of Truth
so from satan I may escape.
I straighten up my shield,
with steadfast faith and trust
so when his fiery darts hit me . . .
my armor will not combust!
~~~~~~~~
Wherefore take unto you
the whole armour of God,
that ye may be able to withstand
in the evil day, and having done all,
to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins
girt about with truth, and having
on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the
preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield
of faith, wherewith ye shall
be able to quench all the fiery
darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God:
God, My Courage~
God, my Courage,
my Bravery, my Grit
Your love compels me
not to give up or quit.
You give me fortitude,
to fight the good fight
all my battles fought
are won in Your might.
God, my Courage,
my Boldness, my Mettle
You turn my nerves
into hard, steely metal.
Your Word is my Armor,
faith is my shield
taking me each day
out into the battle field.
God my Courage,
my Fortress, my Stockade
as long as You go with me . . .
I’m not afraid or dismayed!
~~~~~~~
Have not I commanded thee?
Be strong and of a good courage;
be not afraid, neither be thou
dismayed: for the Lord thy God
is with thee whithersoever
thou goest.

Smoking Hot ~

I saw it approaching me,
I knew from where it came
on the very tip of it . . .
I could even see my name.
It was smoking hot,
the flames were blazing
I knew after me
satan’s dart was aiming.
It had my faith in sight,
my trust was its goal
for satan’s always shoots . . .
directly for the soul.
As I put up my shield,
on Jesus name I called
to help me to extinguish
this flaming, fiery ball.
So, beware my friends,
if you should see the same
one of satan’s fiery darts . . .
may too have your name!

God Is ~
God is . . .
Our Shadow in the heat,
our Calm in the wave
our Refuge in the storm
the only One who can save.
Our Peace surpassing,
our Stillness unreal
our Hope never-ending
the One to whom we kneel.
Our Buckler of Trust,
our Horn of Salvation
our Rock of Strength
the Judge of every nation.
Our Cloud in the Night
our Light unto the Way
our very Present Help
the Potter of the clay.
Our Shield of Faith,
our High Lofty Tower
our Fortress of Peace
the Almighty full of Power!
~~~~~~~~~
“For thou hast been
a strength to the poor,
a strength to the needy
in his distress,
a refuge from the storm,
a shadow from the heat,
when the blast of the
terrible ones is as
a storm against the wall.”
