Lord, I can feel a chill,
a bitterness in the air . . .
there’s a storm coming
I don’t know from where.
Dark clouds of hostility,
are widening and expanding
they’re bleakly intimidating
ominous and menacing.
Lord, I can feel a coldness,
sending icy shivers to my core
there’s something brewing
I don’t know what’s in store.
The winds of adversity,
are vigorously thrusting
they are life-threatening
alarming and unsettling.
Lord, I can feel a chill,
I know not what it indicates
but, I know I need to pray . . .
for these once United States!
~~~~~~~
Looking diligently
lest any man fail
of the grace of God;
lest any root of bitterness
springing up trouble you,
and thereby many be defiled;
They are all gone out of the way,
they are together become unprofitable;
there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Their throat is an open sepulchre;
with their tongues they have used deceit;
the poison of asps is under their lips:
Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
Their feet are swift to shed blood:
Destruction and misery are in their ways:
