Strength For My Battles ~

When my mind tells me to quit,
as it rattles in my head . . .
God reminds me to ask Him
to be by His Spirit led.

When my heart isn’t in it,
as it thumps in my chest . . .
God reminds me to ask Him
with His peace to be blessed.

When my thoughts are far away,
as they whirl in my mind . . .
God reminds me to ask Him
for His wisdom to go and find.

When my soul is feeling crushed,
as it screams I give up . . .
God reminds me to ask Him
for more mercy from His cup.

When my thoughts, soul, heart and mind,
whirls, screams, thumps, and rattles . . .
God reminds me to ask Him
for more strength for my battles!

All Things Through Christ ~

I can do all things in Christ,
through Him all is possible . . .
there’s not a mountain I can’t move
for in Christ nothing is impossible.

I can work all things out in Christ,
in His strength I cannot fail
there isn’t anything I can’t do
for in Christ I’m strong not frail.

I can go where I want in Christ,
with Him I can walk on the sea
there isn’t a storm I can’t face
for in Christ His power lives in me.

I can soar above the clouds in Christ,
rise over my fears and doubt
there’s nothing that can stop me
for in Christ I can pray them all out.

I can do all things in Christ,
and every one of you can too
you can do the impossible . . .
if you let Him do the possible in you!

Afternoon Ponderings ~11.24.23~

Philippians 4:13

When All You Have Is Jesus ~

When all you have left is sorrow,
and there’s nothing more you can do
when all your pain and suffering
has taken the very best from you.

When your trials turn to tribulations,
when they start to overburden you
and the measure of your troubles
you can no longer alone get through.

When your misery turns to despair,
when you feel a hopelessness inside
and another raging internal storm
you don’t have the strength to ride.

When Jesus is all you have,
when you finally come to your knees
and you give Him all your hardships
you’ll find He’ll fulfill all your needs.

For Jesus is our Friend and Savior,
and He will never disappoint . . .
He will give us the strength we need
before we reach our breaking point!

and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you,
and learn of me; for I am meek

Philippians 4:13

Flexing Your Faith Muscle ~

There is no temptation,
no trap, no snare, no lure
that satan won’t use on you
so your soul he can secure.

He will throw out anything,
that he thinks will entice you
and he knows before hand
just what He has to do.

But, God has promised us,
whenever we are tempted
our prayers for help . . .
will be by Him intercepted.

For there’s is no enticement,
that’s not common to all of man
God knows what we can bear
and He has for us an exit plan.

So, next time satan tempts you,
and he tries to confuse or perplex
just rely on the Lord’s strength
then let your faith muscle flex!

Waves Of Fear ~

Lord, keep me safe,
keep me afloat
for I sense a leak . . .
in this rickety old boat.

The water is rising,
I’m in over my head
I can feel it taking on
my anxiety and dread.

Lord, I am not ready,
to give up this ship
but, off of it I fear . . .
I am going to soon slip.

Protect me Lord Jesus,
from these waves of fear
I give to You the helm
so over them You can steer.

Lord, keep me safe and secure,
keep me anchored to You
for, I know there isn’t anything
we can’t together get through!

My Salvation, My Light ~

The Lord is my strength,
without Him I can do nothing
but, with Him all is possible . . .
and I can do anything.

Though my cares are many,
my salvation is in His light
and the hope I have in Him
gives me the strength to fight.

I will trust in my Savior,
no matter what life brings
for, I know He’s in control
of every single thing.

I know I can count on Him,
to guide and lead me
for, through every trial
He has promised to be.

The Lord is my strength,
I am fearful for nothing . . .
as long as He is with me
I’m ready for anything!

There’s not a hunger,
that Jesus can’t satisfy
there’s not a thirst
that He won’t gratify.

There’s not a pain,
that Jesus can’t heal
there’s not a void
that He won’t fill.

There’s not a burden,
that Jesus can’t bear
there’s not a soul
that He won’t spare.

There’s not a disease,
that Jesus can’t treat
there’s not a grievance
that He won’t meet.

There’s not a fear,

there’s not a promise
that He won’t fulfill.

There’s not a doubt,
that Jesus can’t replace
there’s not a heart
that He won’t embrace.

There isn’t anything,
that Jesus can’t do in you

To Be Blessed By God ~

I want by God to be blessed,
I want to be joy-filled
I want to know how to be
in a state of being still.

I want to learn how to be,
unshaken by life’s woes
so that I may withstand
all the knocks and blows.

I want by God to be blessed,
I want to be content
I want to have His peace
always in my life present.

I want to have His strength,
to preserve when I’m tried
so that I may never slip
onto the path that’s wide.

I want by God to be blessed,
I want to trust in His love
I want to be one who can
in all things to rise above!

Power to Rise Above ~

Lord, lift me up today,
help me to rise and stand
release into my life
the power in Your hand.

Make my mind stronger,
renew Your peace in my soul
remind me You are the one
who is always in control.

Show my weary spirit,
Your might is all I need
how strength comes when
I let You guide and lead.

Reinforce into my life,
the power that dwells inside
remind me You’re the one . . .
who in my heart resides.

Christ’s Strength In Me ~

When I’m tuckered out,
when strength I need
to my Bible I go . . .
and these verses I read.

Through my faith in Christ,
I can do anything
for His strength to me
He promises to bring.

Whenever I am fearful,
I need not be afraid
for the Lord will keep me
from becoming dismayed.

When I am feeling faint,
as if I cannot go on
God offers me His strength
when mine is all but gone.

I can come to Jesus,
whenever I’m stressed
and with peaceful rest
I know I’ll be blessed.

Whenever I’m tuckered out,
the Lord strengthens my heart
allowing my hope in Him . . .
to come and do its part!

I trust and believe.

Your strength I’ll possess
for the entire duration.

Your power I’ll have,
to endure all things

When A New Day Comes ~

When a new day comes,
for me to rise and greet
I cast all my worries
first thing at Jesus’ feet.

For then I can start,
the day feeling renewed
and my worldly cares
my thoughts can’t intrude.

When the alarm rings,
telling me it’s that time
I ask Jesus to help me
as out of bed I climb.

For I know without Him,
how hard it would be
if His strength wasn’t . . .
working throughout me.

When a new day comes,
before I get up and go . . .
my burdens like blankets
onto Jesus I off and throw!

God Supplies The Grace ~

God supplies the grace,
for all that we do . . .
it flows right from Him
into me and you.

He delivers His strength,
whenever we are weak
He gives extra power
when more of it we seek.

God grants us mercy,
each day it’s renewable
so we may learn to be
on Him dependable.

He builds up our faith,
regenerates our hope
He provides the means
each day for us to cope.

God supplies the grace,
we give Him back our trust
as we let His Spirit . . .
work in and through us!
