If we are to plant,
we must also water
and trust the growing
to our heavenly Father.
If we want to reap,
we need to sow
and from doing good
weary we can’t grow.
If we want to shout,
with joy and glee
then seeds of faith
we need to set free.
If we want to gather,
fruit for His vine
we need to be patient
loving and kind.
If we want to reap,
there will be pruning
for God the harvest . . .
is always fine tuning!
~~~~~~
Galatians 6:9
And let us not be weary
in well doing:
for in due season we shall reap,
if we faint not.
Psalm 126:6
He that goeth forth and weepeth,
bearing precious seed,
shall doubtless
come again with rejoicing,
bringing his sheaves with him.”
James 5:7
Be patient therefore,
brethren, unto the coming
of the Lord. Behold, the
husbandman waiteth for
the precious fruit of the earth,
and hath long patience for it,
until he receive the early
and latter rain.
My Shepherd calls,
unto my weary heart
so His love into it
He can impart.
He beckons me,
to rest and know
not to worry
His way, He’ll show.
He says my name,
so I can hear
the words I long for
“I’m always here.”
He reassures,
my every doubt
that He will work
all things out.
My Shepherd calls,
I know the voice
and to the sound
I rejoice!
My cup it runneth over,
with tender mercy it flows . . .
my cup can never be emptied
for in my heart Jesus grows.
My cup is full of eternal grace,
with gladness it rises and swells . . .
my cup it will never run dry
for in my heart Jesus dwells.
My cup is full of a lasting joy,
with a love never to cease . . .
my cup will never drain out
for in my heart I am at peace.
My cup is full of endless hope,
with power to be restored . . .
my cup is never unfilled
for in my heart Jesus is Lord.
My cup it runneth over,
with everlasting, blissful rest
my cup will never be empty . . .
for I am eternally blessed.
In the valley I found,
my Shepherd waiting there
to lead and to guide me . . .
how to give Him my care.
He offered me His staff,
to lean my weariness upon
He took from me my grief
gave me joy to put on.
In the midst of tragedy,
suffering, pain and loss
His rod directed me . . .
to the work on the cross.
He gave me the strength,
hope for each tomorrow
for, He took upon Himself
the pain of my sorrow.
In the valley I found,
my Shepherd waiting there
and now I have His peace
replacing my despair!
my eternal Friend
the Deliverer of my soul
the One who completes me
the Forgiver of my wrongs
the One who blesses me
the One who keeps me strong.
Jesus is . . .
my Helper
the Comforter of my heart
the One who I always turn to
the One who’ll never depart.
Jesus is . . .
my Shepherd
the Light in which I see
the One whose Word is Truth
the One who leads and guides me.
Jesus is . . .
my Healer
the Hope living inside me
the One who perfects me
the One whose image, I pray to be.
Jesus is . . .
my Savior
the Risen Lord and my King
the One who promises to everyone
Besides still waters, He leads me,
to pastures green, He guides
my Shepherd’s care for me
never wanes, ebbs or subsides.
He feeds me the Good News,
with words that sustain me
He fills me with wisdom
so His truths I can see.
To the land of milk and honey,
where heavenly manna flows
my Shepherd takes me to where
my love for righteousness grows.
He corrects with tender affection,
sometimes with His rod
but, I know His staff of love
will steer me to the throne of God.
Into the valley He takes me,
where I can sip from His well
the spring of Life-Giving waters
keeps my soul from the pit of hell.
Besides still waters, He guides,
to pastures green, He leads me
my Shepherds’ care will never cease
until with Him in heaven I’ll be.
Jesus calls my name,
I hear His voice . . .
oh, how this knowledge
makes me rejoice.
I talk with Him,
He walks with me
together we journey
through the valley.
Over the hills we go,
climb up to their tops
we travel together
making plenty of stops.
That’s when I learn,
to follow His way
of face the danger
of going astray.
Jesus calls my name,
His voice I hear . . .
He beckons to me
to stay to Him near!
He is my Shepherd,
I am His lamb . . .
He loves me
just as I am.
I will follow Him,
wherever He goes
for I am confident
the way He knows.
I’ll never leave Him,
beside Him I will stay
from Him I’ll never
wander or stray.
I’ll remain by Him,
He’ll be at my side
I’ll always trust Him
to lead and to guide.
Jesus is my Shepherd,
His voice I do hear . . .
as long as I follow Him
I’ll have nothing to fear!
If the Lord is our Shepherd,
then why do we still want?
If He supplies all our needs,
then why do our lacks still taunt?
If besides still waters He leads,
then why do we still fear?
If He fills us with quietness,
then why is it not here?
If green pastures bring peace,
then why are we still stressed?
If He leaves us not lacking,
then why don’t we feel blessed?
If He restores our soul,
then why do we still doubt?
If He satisfies our deep thirst,
then why is their still a drought?
If in righteousness He guides,
then why do we still wander?
If the Lord is your True Shepherd,
these things . . .
we would not have to ponder!
King James Version
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
He is the Alpha and the Omega,
the Beginning and the End
He is our Jehovah, our Lord of Glory
our Eternal Life and forever Friend.
He is the Light of the world,
the Morning Star, the Righteous Sun
He is our Lord, our King, and our Prince
He is God’s only – Beloved Son.
He is the Word and the Living Bread,
the Ransom, the Truth, and the Way
He is the living Son of God
our Wonderful Savior of the day.
He is the Faithful Protector,
the Rock, the Shield, and the Rod
He is our Refuge, our Strength, our Fortress
He is the begotten – Holy One of God
He is the Good Shepherd,
The Redeemer, the Everlasting Peace
He is our Lamp and our Lamb
He is the Servant who came to teach.
He is the Fountain of Living Waters,
the Helper, the Physician, and the Healer
He is our Portion, our Bread of Life
our Restorer and the Holy Spirit’s sealer.
He is the Branch and the True Vine,
the Root of David is where He is from.
He is the Tree of Everlasting Life
He is the Bridegroom yet to come.
He has many names as you can see,
and on all of them we can surely call
but . . . Jesus . . . my Blessed Redeemer
is my favorite one of them all!
Lord, You know my days,
the number of my years
You know the exact time
that my life will be here.
I pray I will use it wisely,
giving honor to Your name
I ask that You will help me
not to bring You any shame.
Lord, You have given me,
this place for me to dwell
You’ve given me a chance
to choose heaven over hell.
I pray I’ll be a good steward,
in the seasons allotted me
I ask for Your guidance
so in eternity, we can be.
Lord, You understand me,
and know my every side
You’ve given me Your light
to be my constant guide.
I pray I will not falter,
on the narrowest of ways
I ask that You will lead me
all my nights and all my days.
Lord, let me not stray,
from You while I am here
for You are my Shepherd
who I trust with all my years.
My Shepherd never takes me,
to a land that is unknown
nor to fields that are not green
or to where wild seeds are sown.
My Shepherd never leads me,
without a gentle nudge or prod
for He looks out for my safety
with His loving staff and rod.
My Shepherd never guides me,
through terrain that is too steep
for He knows my limitations
and will protect this little sheep.
My Shepherd never shows me,
the way that will steer me wrong
He will see me through the valley
and help me to be brave and strong.
My Shepherd wants to feed me,
in pastures that are rich and lush
and so my thirsty soul will follow
and to His living waters I will rush!
