With tattered wings,
God’s eagles fly
but they can’t soar
up too high.
For on their wings,
they carry pain
to reach new heights
would be a strain.
Broken wings,
can’t take on air
life to them
has been so unfair.
Hurt has clipped,
their wings spread
all the eagles know
is what they dread.
Eagles wings,
chained to the past
cannot take off
no matter the draft.
They need Jesus,
to set them free
from all the drama
and its misery.
Only then,
can they soar and fly
when to their past
they let it die!

but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind,
and reaching forth unto those things which are before,”
