A Heart Forgiving ~
A forgiving heart,
we must all acquire
so our resentments
on us don’t backfire.
For if we fail to do,
as Jesus did for us
bitterness our hearts
will slowly encrust.
A heart merciful,
we need to nourish
in God’s Word
for it to flourish.
For if our hearts try,
to forgive on their own
any malice left in it
will turn it into stone.
A heart forgiving,
speaks of no one evil
for it knows words can be
viciously lethal!

and wrath, and anger,
and clamour,
and evil speaking,
be put away from you,
with all malice:”

Grieve Not ~
Grieve not the Holy Spirit,
nor the effects of His grace
don’t let your appetites
be with corruption laced.
For mighty are the works,
He has in store for you
but, you must allow
His power to come through.
Grieve not the Holy Spirit,
with your lying, clamoring lips
do not cause Him grief
by your bitter. angry quips.
For He cannot provide,
His strength in your life
if you continue to give
others heartache and strife.
Grieve not the Holy Spirit,
for it is God’s seal on you
it’s the mark of the souls
who keep heaven in their view!
~~~~~~~~
“And grieve not the holy Spirit
of God, whereby ye are sealed
unto the day of redemption.”
A Merciful Heart ~
Lord, give me a heart merciful,
tender, ready to forgive
give me a heart of kindness
not one testy and combative.
Let it be a heart of compassion,
filled with Your loving grace
Lord, give me a heart lenient
as Yours is for the human race.
Lord, give me a heart merciful,
overflowing with Your goodness
give me a heart sympathetic
not one cold, bitter or ruthless.
Let it be a heart of empathy,
where pardon makes its home
Lord, give me a heart benevolent
like Yours is from Your throne.
Lord, give me a heart merciful,
one that’s animosity free
give me a heart forgiving
just like Yours is towards me!
without mercy, that hath
shewed no mercy;
and mercy rejoiceth
against judgment.”
Be Not Angry ~
Be not angry,
don’t be resentful
let your attitude reflect
all for which you’re grateful.
Be not bitter,
don’t be contentious
let your words chosen
bring to Jesus awareness.
Be not wrathful,
don’t try to get even
let your posture resemble
the reason you’re forgiven.
Be not ill-tempered,
don’t fly off in a rage
let your Bible become
your behavior gauge.
Be not angry,
don’t into sin descend
lest when the sun rises
wrath will be your only friend!
~~~~~~~~
“Be ye angry, and sin not:
let not the sun go down
upon your wrath:”

Strive For Peace ~
Don’t let your bitterness,
make you sour . . .
lest it’ll take from you
the Holy Spirit’s power.
For, bitterness will cause,
discontentment to grow
propelling your temper
to erupt and blow.
Don’t let any resentment,
enter into your soul
lest anger and frustration
will start to take control.
For resentment ignites,
the fires of animosity
and begrudging others
only inflames hostility.
Don’t let your bitterness
stir up resentment and strife
but rather strive to find . . .
God’s peace in your life!
~~~~~~
“Follow peace with all men,
and holiness, without which
no man shall see the Lord:
Looking diligently lest any man
fail of the grace of God;
lest any root of bitterness
springing up trouble you,
and thereby many be defiled;”
A Life Selfless ~
This coming year,
make a resolution new
to put aside . . .
any bitterness still in you.
Make up a list,
of what gives you strife
then ask God to renew
His peace in your life.
This coming year,
make it your ambition
to see the Holy Spirit
gifts come to fruition.
Write down the things,
that are impairing
you from being kind . . .
forgiving and caring.
This coming year,
let your resolution be
a life selfless . . .
so to set bitterness free!
~~~~~~

strife or vainglory;
but in lowliness of mind
let each esteem other
better than themselves.”

The Lemon’s of Life ~
ย Sometimes in life,
lemons, we are given
unpleasant tastes of truth
we have to sink our teeth in.
They comeย at us,
from out of nowhere
making us want to cry
“Life isn’t being fair.”
Lemons are so acidic,
they’ll turn us quite sour
as they eat away and erode
all our faith and power.
They are theย bitter fruits,
of resentment and envy
leavingย us feeling cold
indifferentย and empty.
When life gives us lemons,
we needย the Holy Spirit’sย aide
to turn ourย sourness into . . .
sweet, refreshing lemonade!

joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness,
goodness, faith, meekness, temperance:
against such there is no law.”

The Sin of Bitterness~
I saw the look of bitterness,
staring at me in the face
it held no compassion
nor any mercy or no grace.
It’s beady, steely eyes,
look right past my soul
making it clear to me
resentment was its goal.
I could see into the gaze,
of someone who can’t forgive
and the cause of the problem
how they constantly relive.
They say if looks could kill,
right now I’d be dead . . .
for the look of bitterness
has an evil, toxic head.
Bitterness is a sin,
destructive in every way
its roots need to be destroyed
for hearts and souls are its prey!
