Be Still My Heart ~

Be still, my soul, be at peace,
let not thy worries overcome
be still, and know He is your God
and will  your heart-strings strum.

Be still, my heart and let go,
let surrender be thy sweet release
be still, and know God’s saving power
to eternity, can never fail or cease.

Be still, my mind and surrender all,
let thy weakness take you to your knees
be still, and know of God’s sufficiency
will and can surpass all thy needs.

Be still, my spirit admit thy defeat,
let thyself dwell on things from above
be still, and know He is in control
and be strengthened by and in His love.

Lord Of My Strength ~

Lord, my strength isn’t in my bones,
for they’re too weak and frail . . .
my strength is in the knowledge
Your Spirit in me will never fail.

My strength does not come,
from anything that I can do
for, I have very little power
if it does not come from You.

Lord, my strength can’t be found,
by going to the gym or spa . . .
it shows up when I exercise
to You, my holy awe.

My strength is thin and feeble,
and sometimes I cannot stand
but, when I draw close to You
I feel the power of Your hand.

Lord, my strength doesn’t measure up,
when compared to Your own . . .
my burdens would be too heavy
if I had to carry them alone!

Totally Surrendered ~

Totally surrendered,
God wants it all
all that you have
nothing is too small.

You need to give Him,
all of your heart
He wants the whole of it
not just a tiny part.

Totally surrendered,
God wants to see
how much you want
like Jesus to be.

You need to submit,
to His perfect will
you must be willing
to wait and be still.

Totally surrendered,
God wants to know
how much you want
in Him to grow.

You have to let go,
of your selfish desires
you must be ready
for all He requires.

Totally surrendered,
God wants all of you
but you must want . . .
all of Him too!

A Moment to Be Still ~

Lord, I need a quiet moment,
to be alone with You
a time not interrupted
by the things that I must do.

A time of surrender,
to Your perfect will
a time with You only
a moment to be still.

A time to reflect,
on Your amazing grace
a time to hold You close
a minute to embrace.

A time to recognize,
You are always here
a time to know Your touch
a second to feel You near.

A time to pay attention,
to let Your Spirit lead
a time to feel Your peace
an instant is all I need.

Lord, give me just a second,
maybe even two . . .
I need this very moment
alone with only You!

Surrender Your Heart ~

That searching in your heart,
the hunger that you feel
can only be satisfied . . .
when you know God’s will.

A life that is surrendered,
that meets His demands
will find divine direction
when left in His hands.

Maybe your life you’ve made,
a complete and utter mess of
but don’t limit what God can do
with His unconditional love.

When Jesus has your heart,
His good pleasure works in you
and the Holy Spirit’s power
will turn you into something new.

That hunger in your heart,
the thirst that you feel
only Jesus can satisfy . . .
only God’s mercy can fill!

Slow Me Down, Lord ~

Slow me down Lord,
help me to take the time
to see You’re more important
than this life of mine.

Slow me down Lord,
sometimes I move too fast
I get so distracted to even notice
that it was You, I have passed.

Slow me down Lord,
help me to stay close to You
let me see You’re more worthy
than anything I have to do.

it seems I’m always on the run
and so often Your voice
I just put off and shun.

help me to put You first . . .
help me to see if I don’t my soul

Take Me Deeper Lord ~

Take me deeper Lord, take me deep,
no more just skimming the surface
no more being shallow or superficial
no more just giving You lip service.

no more lack of spiritual power
take me out of my self-imposed strife.

Jesus, I admit defeat,
