Spirit Of God ~
Spirit of God,
mighty and holy
teach us to live
for You wholly.
Bring to us,
power and might
let us be
for You a light.
Spirit of God,
lead and guide
teach us how
we can abide.
Help us to remain,
on the narrow way
to the left or right
help us not to stray.
Spirit of God,
rest upon us
with holy fear
may You we trust!

Night Sky ~
When I look out,
on the sky at night
I stand gaping . . .
at the starry sight.
I recall the days,
when I was young
and the many wishes
on them I made upon.
But, now when I see,
their starry twinkling
they have me on . . .
eternal life thinking.
Instead of wishing,
for things worldly
now my prayer is to see
gates white and pearly.
When I look out,
on the starry night
now I see my name
twinkling in their light!

A Merciful Heart ~
Lord, give me a heart merciful,
tender, ready to forgive
give me a heart of kindness
not one testy and combative.
Let it be a heart of compassion,
filled with Your loving grace
Lord, give me a heart lenient
as Yours is for the human race.
Lord, give me a heart merciful,
overflowing with Your goodness
give me a heart sympathetic
not one cold, bitter or ruthless.
Let it be a heart of empathy,
where pardon makes its home
Lord, give me a heart benevolent
like Yours is from Your throne.
Lord, give me a heart merciful,
one that’s animosity free
give me a heart forgiving
just like Yours is towards me!

Fake Good News ~
There’s a lot of fake news,
going around today . . .
there’s also a fake Good News
leading many astray.
It’s a gospel that tells you,
with material wealth you’ll be blessed
it’s about living well here and now
and not about eternal rest.
It’s a gospel of tolerance,
with plenty of leeway
to do what you want
not what the Scriptures say.
It’s a gospel that preaches,
if it feel good just do it
don’t worry about being
convicted by the Holy Spirit.
There’s a fake Good News,
from the pulpits being spewed
for the real Gospel of Jesus
by man has been skewed!

Resting With My Father ~
Today I am resting,
alone with my Father
none of my worries
my soul will bother.
I am going to soak up,
the peace He imparts
I am going to let it fill
the whole of my heart.
Today I’m taking it,
with my Father easy
none of my troubles
will make me queasy.
I’m fixing my eyes,
on my treasure up above
where I’ll be surrounded
by the glory of His love.
Today I am relaxing,
with my Father all alone
I’m going to be resting
at the foot of His throne!

The Reason for My Hope
I believe in God,
in all of His glorious creation
I believe He made the heavens
and the earth's foundation.I believe that man,
came from but dust
I believe it's God's image
He puts into all of us.I believe that Satan,
is the cause for our fallen state
I believe it's still his lies
he uses on us to trap and bait.I believe that man's heart,
has always been cold and callous
I believe it's full of deceit
filled with ungodly malice.I believe in Jesus,
God's only begotten Son
I believe He died and rose again
for the sins of everyone.I believe in redemption,
from our wicked, evil ways
I believe it's the blood of the Lamb
that washes our sins away.I believe in God's love,
I believe in His grace
I believe one day
God's judgement all will face.I believe in Heaven,
I also believe in hell . . .
I believe for eternity it's where
the unsaved will dwell.I believe in the hope,
Jesus imparts in me
I believe all can be saved
