Galatians 6:9

Winning Life’s Crown ~

When you’re discouraged,
feeling down in the dumps
you need to give yourself
in Jesus a joy jump.

For He can bring you out,
of that pit you are in . . .
once you start to focus
on the Goodness of Him.

When you’re disenchanted,
with the world around you
you need to give yourself
a more heavenly view.

For God has a mansion,
filled with numerous rooms
where tears, sorrows and death
no longer lurks or looms.

When you’re feeling sad,
discouraged and down
just think about Jesus . . .
and winning Life’s Crown!

To Busy To Be Still ~

Often we find ourselves,
too busy to stay still
that we become careless
searching for God’s will.

Our lives are so chaotic,
obsessively constricted
that our time alone with God
is neglectfully restricted.

Often we find ourselves,
on God not at all waiting
and our lives become
discouragingly frustrating.

Our days run together,
weeks become but a blur
that we cannot even sense
when the Holy Spirit stirs.

Often we find ourselves,
in a headlong, frantic rush
when God would rather instill . . .
His stillness into us!

Puncture Wounds ~

When life leaves,
a puncture wound
don’t let your faith
by it be consumed.

For when we hurt,
God can replace
the pain and ache
with His grace.

When life pokes,
and picks at you
don’t let your trust
be pricked at too.

For when we hurt,
God can repair
the brokenness
of our despair.

When life’s wounds,
have you feeling . . .
hurt and bruised
ask God for healing!

So Many Battles ~

So many battles,
too many fights
so many who need
God ‘s powerful might.

So many struggles,
too many woes
so many who need
God’s peaceful repose.

So many troubles,
too many ills
so many who need
God to show His will.

So many worries,
too many despairs
so many who need
God’s mercy repairs.

So many battles,
too many fights
so many who need
Jesus’ saving light!

When Feeling Humdrum ~

When you feel discouraged,
and your faith feels dull
before hopelessness
sinks into your skull.

Fill your mind with Jesus,
all that He did for you
and you’ll see helplessness
from another point of view.

When you feel disheartened,
and you faith feels drab
before disenchantment
your heart from God’s grabs.

Fill your mind with Jesus,
let all His words sink in
and you’ll see desperation
differently though Him.

When your faith feels blah,
and you’re feeling humdrum
fill you mind with Jesus . . .
for a hopeful outcome!

God’s Retreat of Peace ~

When you’re exhausted,
overwhelmed and weak
when all around you
appears cold and bleak.

That’s when you need,
God’s Refuge of tranquility
where from your troubles
you’ll find carefree, serenity.

When from the pressure,
you need to get out from under
when life seems to be
one blunder after another.

That’s when you need,
to take a breather
with God your Rock
and Fortress keeper.

When you are washed-out,
and in need of some rest . . .
in God’s retreat of peace
with calm, you’ll be blessed!

When You’re Down ~

It’s easy to be discouraged,
to be down and out
it’s not hard to wear a frown
or put on a pout.

It’s easy to be disheartened,
to be faint and weary
it’s not hard to cry out
through eyes that are teary.

It’s easy to be overwhelmed,
to be feeling forsaken
it’s not hard to lose focus
when your world is shaken.

It’s easy to be troubled,
to be worried and fearful
it’s not to hard to forget
to be joyous and cheerful.

But, we can find peace,
amidst all of our suffering
when to God we go . . .
for courage and comforting!
