In Faith Remain ~

Lord, in faith may I continue,
this path that I am on
in hope may to it . . .
I keep on keeping drawn.

May I remain stable,
in these perilous times
may you keep me aware
of all the shifting signs.

Lord, in faith may I remain,
rooted and grounded
in the truth may I keep
myself surrounded.

May steadfast I be,
in the Gospel I’ve heard
may I not stumble or fall
from my belief in Your word.

Lord, in faith may I settle,
into the Life and the Way
may I follow it closely . . .
as long as on earth I stay!

One Step Forward ~

Sometimes all I can put,
is just one foot forward . . .
for it is all I can do
to keep moving onward.

For I know that I need,
to be diligent and patient
though I am overwhelmed
by today’s environment.

Sometimes I just take,
one step at a time . . .
for it is all I can make
as I see evil on the climb.

For I know I must be,
willing to wait and see
so that fear’s fingers
can’t seize a hold on me.

Sometimes I don’t move,
instead, still I just stand
and say to myself . . .
this is all in God’s hand!

To Keep Pressing On ~

To keep pressing on,
to Jesus we need to press in
to keep on, keeping on
we need to run away from sin.

To reach the high calling,
on God we must keep our eyes
to reach up to heaven
we need to focus on the prize.

To get to the goal,
to our Savior we need to cling
to get to the finish line
we must grow our eagle wings.

To obtain the reward,
on the Holy Spirit we need to rely
to obtain the treasure
our worldly desires we must deny.

To keep pressing on,
to Jesus we must give Him our all
to keep on, keeping on
on God’s power we need to call!

From the Poem: Keep On ~ Keeping On

Keep on Keeping On ~

Some days it is so easy,
to run the faithful race
for I know at the finish line
I’m going to see Jesus’ face.

When my eyes are on the goal,
of meeting Jesus at the end
I run with confidence
around every twist and bend.

Then there are the days,
when I am not up to the race
for I’m running in my pride
not in the favor of His grace.

It’s funny how on those days,
every hurdle becomes a trap
and I feel like giving up
before I make another lap.

I know to run the good race,
on Jesus, I need to concentrate
if I’m going to see the insides
of heaven’s pearly gates.

I know to be dedicated,
to keep on ~ keeping on . . .
I’ll need God’s strength
and the Holy Spirit’s brawn!
