Bitterness is resentment’s kin,
the two go hand in hand
when one falls down the other one
will be there to help it stand.
Bitterness says I won’t forgive,
resentment tells you why
put them both together
and you’ll hear their heated cry.
Bitterness blames everyone,
other than its own self
resentment holds on to the past
so not to incriminate itself.
Bitterness can’t believe,
all the bad things that have happen
resentments says it’s just not fair
and others shouldn’t be forgiven.
Bitterness excels at hurtful things,
resentment can do even better
and when they work collectively
Jesus can’t get to the heart matter.

Acts 8:23

in the gall of bitterness,
and in the bond of iniquity.”

I love this. Bitterness and resentment keep us back from God’s blessings.

Bitterness is such a temptation in the aftermath of trials. Yet trials are the very tools God uses to conform us to the image of His Son.
