Lord, take him off the couch,
and put him in the game
let him suit up and come to church
so he can be in Your hall of fame.
I know he’s ready to play,
so put him in the opening string
let him make the first throw
so he’ll come to church and sing.
Lord, give him the red flag,
let him see his every passing foul
give him some time-outs too
so he can see he’s gone afoul.
Give him the football,
let him run up and down the field
just get him to church today
so his heart ~ to You he will yield.
Lord, let him make the last catch,
the last play or the final goal
Lord, just get him off the couch
so You can win ~ his heart and soul!

God bless you Deborah! I like the way you relate this to football.. It’s like a parable but then a beautiful piece.

Oh, I am still upstairs on my computer while the never-ending game is on. I have read all of James and 1 Peter while my hubby watches in disappointment his team losing. I told him my at half-time mine was winning . . . but then He always does! Blessing . . .
