My Times Are In Your Hands ~

My TImes Are in Your Hands ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

My times are in Your hands,
my God, I wish them there
my life
my hopes
my every dream
are completely in Your care.

My times are in Your hands,
I give them all to You
my days
my nights
my entire tomorrows
are Yours, to do what you must do.

My times are in Your hands,
in all that I do and say
my thoughts
my feelings
my deepest desires
are Yours, to do what You may.

My times are in Your hands,
to mold as You seem right
my love
my faith
my total trust
are Yours, to do as You might.

My times are in Your hands,
dear Lord, I want them there
my heart
my mind
my souls design
are Yours, to trim and pare!

Victory’s Crown ~

~For His Glory by Chris Reinecke free photo #8400

On the troubled sea,
blinded by wind and foam
my heart is set to sail . . .
towards my eternal home.

The rise of each crashing wave,
tests my faith once more
but, I’m determined to ride them out
till I land on heavens shore.

The raging swells I will fight,
I’ll not give up on Thee
for my soul is anchored to the One
with whom I am meant to be.

Every gust of the angry wind,
seeks to take me down
but, I will stand up to their wrath
till I receive victories crown.

Though the seas are troubled,
and have their sights out for me
I’ll endure each battering wave
for my sails Lord are set on Thee!

~~~~~~~~~~~
James 1:12
King James Version
“Blessed is the man
that endureth temptation:
for when he is tried,
he shall receive
the crown of life,
which the Lord hath promised
to them that love him.”
Entering the Race ~
 Follow Me by Jose Fares free photo #5573
I’m putting on my sneakers,
going to enter into the race
so I’m cushioning my soul
with God’s mercy and grace.
The contest that’s before me,
seems a million-miles long
and I must trust in Jesus
if I’m going to finish strong.
With Him running with me,
I’ll stay focused on winning
the confidence He’ll provide
will keep me from sinning.
I’ll have a sense of purpose,
His love will be in my stride
I will stay true to the course
knowing He is at my side.
I’ll run with His strength,
He’ll provide the assurance
the crown of life is my prize
if I run with endurance!
~~~~~~~~

1 Corinthians 9:24
King James Version

“Know ye not that they
which run in a race run all,

 but one receiveth the prize?
So run, that ye may obtain.”

How Beautiful ~

What Causes Our Feet To Stumle ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

How beautiful are the feet,
that travel across our nation
who share the Good News
about God and His creation.

How faithful are the lives,
that journey into the streets
who bring the gift of Jesus
to the sinners they meet.

How gracious are the ones,
who leave their own home
so they can bring back to God
His sheep on the roam.

How loyal are the steps of those,
that go out into the world
to spread salvation’s story
so God’s peace can be unfurled.

How beautiful are the feet,
who enter the faithful fight
to proclaim the Gospel Truth
and spread the Way and Light!

~~~~~~~~~
Isaiah 52:7
King James Version
“How beautiful
upon the mountains are the feet
of him that bringeth good tidings,
that publisheth peace;
that bringeth good tidings of good,
that publisheth salvation;
that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!”
Our Eternal Assurance ~
Your Love Never Fails ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
God’s love never fails,
it never fades or pales
that is our assurance
our eternal insurance.
Our soul He’ll protect,
He promises to perfect
our mind and our heart
when hope we impart.
He’s the light in our lamp,
redemption’s seal and stamp
the source of our power
no matter the day or hour.
He is the grace in our cup,
when on His Word we sup
our faith in Him will grow
the more about Him we know.
God is the Father, the Son
the Holy Spirit ~ makes one
to us that is His assurance
to all, His eternal insurance!
~~~~~~~~

1 Thessalonians 1:5
King James Version

“For our gospel came not unto you in word only,
but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost,
and in much assurance; as ye know what manner
of men we were among you for your sake.

If I Could Fly ~

If I Could Fly ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Oh, if I could fly away,
I’d soar into my Savior’s arms
there I would find my rest
and be safe from all that harms.

I would take off and reside,
under the shadow of His wings
and be free from all the strife
living in this world brings.

Oh, if I could fly away,
like an eagle, I’d mount and rise
and climb to where His peace
would calm my fearful cries.

I would go right up to Him,
lay my burdens at His feet
and with Jesus I would find
my secure and sure retreat.

Oh, if I could fly away,
if I had wings like a dove
I’d soar right up to heaven
and rest in His eternal love.

I would climb so ever high,
to where I’d find His stillness
I would dive into His calm
and sop up His quietness.

Oh, if I could fly away,
I’d take you along with me . . .
and together we’d find rest
throughout all of eternity!

~~~~~~~~~
Psalm 55:6
King James Version
“And I said, Oh that I had wings like a
dove! for then would I fly away, and be
at rest.”
Wake Up Call
English: The face of a black windup alarm clock
The alarm has been set,
the hour is drawing near
and in these final moments
the wake-up call is clear.
The signs are all there,
just as we’ve been told
and it’s time to speak up
and for God to be bold.
Just take a look around,
and tell me what you see
haters of good and God
are evident to me.
You can see the ungodly,
up and down our streets
marching in defiance
on their self-serving feet.
Standing on our corners,
you’ll find those begging
for you to support
their unholy way of living.
Look at the love of money,
the ungratefulness
the way people lie and cheat
about their own recklessness.
Seated in our churches,
are those who once confessed
but, now their sins they deny
all they want is God to bless.
It time to listen up,
and hear the warning bell
lest you be left behind
and spend eternity in hell!!
~~~~~~~~

2 Timothy 3:1-5
King James Version

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall
come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves,
covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to
parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection,
 trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce,
 despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady,
 highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:
from such turn away.”

Into the Wilderness

Wilderness by Steve Kirkeby free photo

Into the wilderness,
we sometimes all have to go
when we start thinking
God’s blessings no longer flow.

We find we’re still hungry,
our thirst isn’t satisfied
so we wander off in the world
seeking what it has to provide.

We complain and we moan,
about our wanting state
for His provisions don’t come
at a fast or quick enough rate.

We seem just to be surviving,
with the little that we’ve got
and the graces of our Lord
in our heart’s we’ve forgot.

We can’t see the future,
for today looks too bleak
we don’t see how small we are
until He makes us feel weak.

Then the Lord sends to us,
His manna from above
and He covers us once again
with His mercy and love.

Into the wilderness,
we all sometimes have to go
but God only keeps us there
so our faith in Him will grow!

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Exodus 16:14
King James Version
“And when the dew that lay was gone up,
behold, upon the face of the wilderness
there lay a small round thing,
as small as the hoar frost on the ground.
The Mark of The Beast
End of the World by Chess Hoyle free photo E12512
Father in heaven,
Lord of my life
help me to battle
the New World strife.
Keep my soul ready,
to receive Thy instructions
keep my heart watchful
to the New Order abduction.
Keep my mind alert,
to Thy holy wisdom
keep my thoughts unlike
the One World System.
Keep my eyes aware,
to see it is my choice
keep my ears opposed
to the Antichrist’s voice.
Keep my feet moving,
in the direction Thy set
keep my legs running
from this World Wide threat.
Keep my faith strong,
don’t let me get fleeced
keep me from Satan
and the Mark of the Beast!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Revelation 14:9-10
King James Version

“And the third angel followed them, saying with
a loud voice, If any man worship the beast
and his image, and receive his mark in his
forehead, or in his hand,

The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath
of God, which is poured out without mixture
into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be
tormented with fire and brimstone in the
presence of the holy angels, and in the
presence of the Lamb:”

A Taste of Goodness

Embrace Grace2 by Samuel Kaylor free photo #2893

For those who are hungry,
to find meaning in their life
for all who are left wanting
by the burdens of their strife.

Come and taste of the Lord,
let Him fill you with His peace
learn to trust in Him
your huger pains will cease.

Come and sip from the well,
where eternal life flows . . .
His kindness will pour forth
as in your heart He grows.

Come and see that He is good,
for bountiful is His grace
tender mercies He has stored
await your heart’s embrace.

Come those who are hungry,
those who are wanting too
come and taste His goodness
experience all He has for you!

blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”

When God is Silent ~

jesus-name-0109-150x150

I use to wonder . . .
if God heard my prayers
when I was over burdened
by the weight of my cares.

Amid all the clamor,
and the uproars of this life
I wondered if He listened
to the prayers of my strife.

At night I’d lay in my bed,
I would cry myself to sleep
unsure if He still received
the prayers of His sheep.

As prayers went unanswered,
I’d turn into a basket case
thinking for some reason
I had fallen from His grace.

But, now when God is silent,
I know it’s because He’s just
and He is still teaching me
to trust, trust . . . trust!

King James Version

“Trust in the Lord
with all thine heart;

and lean not
unto thine own understanding.”

The Invitation . . .

Names of Jesus by Andrew Haight free photo #3974

There is an invitation,
I would like to give to you
a special request . . .
that I think you should do.

I want to appeal to you,
to come and meet my Friend
He is someone you will like
if time with Him ~ you’ll spend.

He is as gentle, as He is kind,
He is meek ~ yet very strong
He is the kind of companion
you’ll always want to take along.

He will never disappoint you,
or turn His back on you
with Him all things are possible
there isn’t anything He can’t do.

His love is unconditional,
for it’s full of mercy and grace
there is no limit to the amount
that you choose to embrace.

I know He wants to meet you,
for He has placed you on my heart
and I know that it’s your sin . . .
that’s keeping,  the two of you apart.

So, won’t you accept my invitation,
to meet this Friend of mine
He is Jesus, my Lord and Savior
and I pray God’s gift ~ you’ll not decline!

If I Were Like My Master ~

Follow Jesus by Susan Helmuth free photo #5035

If I were like my Master . . .
I would walk miles in the sand
I’d take away someone’s burden
lend another a helping hand.

If I were like my Master . . .
I’d be gracious and merciful too
I would comfort my ailing brother
show a lost sister what to do.

If I were like my Master . . .
I’d walk upon the turbulent sea
I would safely reach my destination
encouraging others to follow me.

If I were like my Master . . .
I’d be no longer battle sin
I would show other’s compassion
and their souls to God, I’d win.

If I were like my Master . . .
I’d see the hungry people to feed
I would take and offer what I had
giving them more than they need.

If I were like my Master . . .
I’d spread the Good News all around
I would speak of God’s forgiveness
how in Jesus new life can be found.

If I were like my Master . . .
I’d have a spirit of servitude
humility and meekness
would always be my attitude!

ought himself also so to walk,
even as he walked.”

A Mournful Spirit

How to Wreck Your Life by Kyle Reed free photo #10094

Lord, give me a mournful spirit,
as my sins rise to the surface
let me feel the pangs of anguish
for being to You ~ a disservice.

I know I have hurt You,
how disloyal  to You I’ve been
now I see through the darkness
and recognize the pain of my sin.

I once thought I was wealthy,
but now I know that I am poor
I thought I could squeak my way
into heaven’s back door.

But, this could never happen,
for I have broken Your heart
and unless I am truly repentant
from You ~ I’ll always be apart.

So, I am bowing down before You,
my tears are asking You to forgive
all the disfavor I have brought You
for my life to You ~ I want to give.

Lord, bless me with Your comfort,
come and bring my heart relief
while I express to You my sorrow
for causing You . . . so much grief!

The Desert Bloom

Desert Land 3668 by Natanis Davidsen free photo 5802

The desert land is now a bloom,
with fruit clinging to the vine
what once was barren ~ is fruitful
and flows with everlasting wine.

Years of drifting in the wilderness,
have finally come to an end . . .
darkness now is full of joyful light
for all  ~ finally have an eternal Friend.

The bud of love, blossoms into grace,
stirring the strings of the arid heart
mercy praises they now sing . . .
a song of a new and abundant start.

The weaken hand is made strong,
the feeble knee now too stands
for they have found God’s justice
and place their trust in His hands.

Once blind eyes now can see,
deaf ears now can hear the sound
of the once mute song of praise
as the lame leap ~ an eternal bound.

Hands held high overhead,
giving God the glory He is due
rejoice, rejoice, and again rejoice
for Jesus came to save you!

Isaiah 35:1
King James Version

“The wilderness and the solitary place
shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice,

In the City of No Mores ~

Heaven 2 by Jon Kenney free photo #5361

In the City of No Mores,
is where I long to be
and I can hardly wait
until Jesus returns for me.

I am going to walk,
on the street of No More Tears
for God will wipe them away
along with all  my fears.

On the road of No More Pain,
I will be compete and whole
for I will have a new body
with a glorified in Him soul.

I know I will run and jump,
down the path of No More Sin
for the devil and his demons
will be kept from joining in.

On the highway of No More Death,
there will be a jubilant parade
and from Satan’s evil-doings
I will never again be afraid.

The City of No More Separation,
is where I will spend eternity
and I can’t wait to dwell in . . .
the mansion of No More Anxiety!

Revelation 21:4
King James Version

“And God shall wipe away
all tears from their eyes;

and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow,
nor crying,

neither shall there be
any more pain:

for the former things
are passed away.”

Let Us Love ~

Let Us Love ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~

Let us not love in idle words,
that simply roll off our tongues
let us love in truthful actions
and deeds that are left unsung.

Let us not love with conditions,
that requires more of another
let us love in a forgiving measure
bracing and lifting up each other.

Let us not love over factors,
that causes us to clash and fight
let us love with assuring hearts
filled with joy and His delight.

Let us not love in competition,
that causes one to win or to lose
let us love with honest declarations
His truths be in the terms we choose.

Let us not love with a lofty heart,
that brings or puts another down
let us love with hope and bold faith
so others can see the truth we’ve found.

Let us love with pure, honest deeds,
so our conduct awes and inspires
another life to turn to our Lord
for that is what  ~ His heart desires.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Philippians 2: 1-3
King James Version
“Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ,
if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit,
if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded,.
having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit,
but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.”
If I Were Eve . . .
The first page of the Book of Genesis from the...
Sometime I think if I were Eve,
I would’ve done something different
other than to be led astray . . .
by that slimy, slithering, lying serpent.
I would’ve given it more thought,
about having all that knowledge
since what I know about the world
I’m not too proud to acknowledge.
I would’ve given it more reflection,
a garden that was abundantly lush
or this one that is filled with smut
crawling in greed, pride and lust.
You see I really don’t like apples,
or fruit of any kind . . .
and I don’t think I would have let
Satan slither his way into my mind.
But, then I  do love vegetables,
chicken, pork and beef . . .
and who knows if I was offered them
if I would have given satan any grief.
I guess the moral of my dilemma,
is satin knows just how to tempt you
be it a fruit on a tree . . .
or a juicy burger on the barbecue.
So be very careful,
this slimy, slithering, lying snake
will offer you anything . . .
so from Jesus  your soul ~ he can take!
God Is Mightier
Our Magnificent God by Sherman Jackson free photo #7195
God is mightier than the battle,
that you are facing right now
He is greater than your worst enemy
and your defeat He won’t allow.
He is stronger than the burden,
that is weighing you down
He’s more powerful than the storm
He will never let you drown.
His light overcomes the darkness,
it shines night or day
His grace is given freely
and lights the righteous way.
His balm is ever soothing,
it will heal your every wound
His touch is transforming
and keeps your life to Him attuned.
His presence is refreshing,
like a cool mountain stream
His glory outshines the sun
so His splendor you may gleam.
His sufficiency is abundant,
forever it goes on . . .
His love reaches every heart
through the gift of His Son.
His peace always overrules,
every war or inner conflict
His mercy triumphs over
the pain that other’s inflict.
His yoke breaks the bondage,
it frees the chains that bind
His love is like no other . ..
Ashes to Beauty ~
Lord's Beauty by Meliza Celeridad free photo #15392
One day all of our sorrows,
will turn from ashes into beauty
for Jesus will come again . . .
for those who love Him truly.
He will raise the truly penitent,
from their fallen, sinful state
the poor in spirit He’ll elevate
all the way to heaven’s gate.
The brokenhearted will see,
their painful wounds bound up
their worries will be silenced
by the grace held in His cup.
He’ll set the remorseful free,
from the chains of their sin
as the yoke of guilt and shame
no longer, pierces from within.
All those who have made Jesus,
the Lord and Master of their life
will not be judged or condemned
nor be damned for their past strife.
He’ll comfort all who’ve mourned,
for He has gathered up their tears
their ashes will turn into His beauty
His glory will wipe out their fears!
~~~~~~~

Isaiah 61:3
King James Version

“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion,
to give unto them beauty for ashes,
the oil of joy for mourning,
the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
that they might be called trees of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.”

I hear weariness in your voice,
the straining cracks of fear

Gathering Up His Wheat

Wheat 2 by Simeon Hughes free photo #2858

Oh, the empty husks of grain,
separated from the mighty stalk
are being tossed to and fro
by the winds of wayward talk.

The chaff is but a barren skin,
covered in a lifeless shell
and so it gathers on the wind
those whom it can take to hell.

The grains of doubt grow wild,
and spreads like a searing fire
testing the flames of hell
with the blaze of man’s desire.

The chaff breaks up the wheat,
by shifting the heart on the vine
stirring up dissent with its lies
and mixing water with the wine.

Don’t get caught up in the winds,
where the truth is blown away
lest you fall from His grace
and be left behind one day.

For, the winnowing fork is in His hand,
and there’ll be threshing on the floor
He’ll gather His wheat up in the air
and leave the chaff at hell’s door!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Matthew 3:12
King James Version
“Whose fan is in is hand,
and he will throughly purge his floor,
and gather his wheat into the garner;
but he will burn up the chaff
with unquenchable fire.”
Smoking Flax
Untouchables by Scott Johns free photo #5959
Smoking flax, weak little things,
needing reminders, of what faith brings
bruised and hurting, smoking flax
fragile souls, trust in God is what they lack.
Smoking flax, where is your spark,
have you hidden it, deep within your heart?
Backslidden ones, blown all about,
by the winds of self-proclaiming doubt.
Smoking flax, fearful ones of the flock,
stumble upon, each stumbling block
chomping on temptation’s cunning lure
going off with Satan, on His earthly tour.
Smoking flax, beaten and broken down,
you can’t see His goodness all around
pride and ego, gets in your constant way
to make room for God, in your busy day.
Smoking flax, you have no strength,
to go the distance, to go the length
but try you will, always on your own
the longer it takes, the more you roam.
Smoking flax, weak, noxious things,
return to Christ, see what renewed faith brings
smoking flax, He’ll not quench or put you out
but, He will rid you of your crippling doubt!
Matthew 12:20
King James Version
“A bruised reed shall he not break,
and smoking flax shall he not quench,
till he send forth judgment unto victory.”
Fight the Good Fight ~
if_god_is_for_us
I fight not against the bait,
that is placed upon the hook
but rather against Satan who want’s
to keep me out of life’s book.
I wrestle not against the helm,
that fights the winds at sea
but rather against the gusts of sin
that takes me far from Thee.
I struggle not against the will,
that is battled with each day
but rather against its raging power
that from God, forces me away.
I resist not against a world,
that can’t see my point of view
but rather against their defiance
of a Man they never knew.
I am up against a universe,
made by God for man’s delight
yet opts to live in the darkness
then to dwell in His saving light.
Worth the Risk ? ? ?
Go unto all the World by Junny Cruz free photo #16173
Would I preach the Word,
if I knew, I’d be stoned
would I be so willing
if I knew, I’d be disowned?
Would I speak the Truth,
if I knew, I’d be killed
would I be so bold
if I knew, I’d be stilled?
Would I shine the Light,
if I knew, I’d be rejected
would I be so confident
if I knew, I’d be dejected?
Would I proclaim the Way,
if I knew, I’d be refused
would I be so convinced
if I knew, I’d be abused?
Is it worth the risk,
for me to say a word . . .
is it worth my life to share
the Good News I’ve heard?
Acts 7:58
King James Version
and stoned him: and the witnesses
laid down their clothes at a young
man’s feet, whose name was Saul.”
Greater is He In You ~
faith-2 free photo
Be sober and be vigilant,
for Satan’s alive and well
always be on the alert
for the lies that he tells.
Keep your eyes on him,
for he’s roaming all around
and it brings him pleasure
when he can take you down.
The nearer you are to God,
the closer he moves in
he will use all his devices
to trap you into sin.
They call him the deceiver,
for he knows how to cheat
the Truth and the Light
right from under your feet.
So don’t be deceived,
when Satan starts to woo
for greater is He . . .
that lives inside of you!
1 John 4:4
King James Version
“Ye are of God,
little children, and have
overcome them:
because greater is he
that is
in you,
than he that is
in the world.”
My Friends Think I’m Peculiar
My Friends Think I'm Peculiar ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
My friends think I’m peculiar,
some say I am a little odd
most think that I’m just weird
because I still trust in God.
They too were once believers,
but now they walk in the dark
the light once shinning in them
has become cold and stark.
They no longer hunger,
or thirst for the righteous way
they no longer see the truth
in what the Bible has to say.
For most they have given up,
the narrow way was too hard
and with every bump and jolt
their faith in God was jarred.
Now their hearts are set upon,
the worldly things of the flesh
they tell me that my  beliefs
and their desires do not mesh.
My friends think I’m peculiar,
some say I am a little odd . . .
but I pray for them everyday
to turn back and trust in God.
1 Peter 2:9
King James Version
priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people;
that ye should shew forth the praises of him
who hath called you out of darkness into his
marvellous light;”
The Apprentice
Disciple by Joel Barr free photo#7612
I am but an apprentice,
with many things to learn
I study to prove myself
so His will I may discern.
With fear and trembling,
my Bible I explore and read
to stay on salvation’s road
I must let His Spirit lead.
I am my brother’s helper,
assisting him in his need
helping him to plant another
trusting faithful seed.
I reap from the Lord,
in His parables how to act
and find when I follow them
there’s nothing that I lack.
I am the aide to my sister,
offering to her a helping hand
I pick her up when she falls
in faith I help her to stand.
I listen to what God says,
and wait for Him to show
the way and the direction
He would have me to go.
I am but an apprentice,
I am learning as I go
knowing that my Master
helps me everyday to grow.
Right now I am His follower,
helping those who are in need
but one day the Lord will have
a whole flock for me to lead!
Give Yourself a Gift ~
Give Yourself a Gift ~
When you’re feeling down,
and you need a lift
just pick up your Bible
and give yourself a gift.
For inside you’ll find,
God’s promises galore
for you to find and claim
if your Bible you’d explore.
When you’re feeling anxious,
remember this one thing
since God is on our side
what good will worry bring.
For He is our peaceful God,
who showers us from above
with the gentleness of His mercy
in the tenderness of His love.
When you’re feeling lonesome,
and it seems no one cares
though you might be all alone
know that God hears your prayers.
For He is the morning wind,
that blows across your face
touching you with His goodness
caressing you with His grace.
When you’re feeling discouraged,
and deep waters begin to flow
cast your cares upon Him
and just watch His blessings grow.
For He is your Rock and anchor,
He will never let you drown
He will turn all your deep rivers
into dry and solid ground.
All the assurance that you need,
is written in the Good Book
but you’ll have to pick it up
and take for yourself a look!
A Conquering Soul ~
A Conquering Soul ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
It takes courage,
a spirit willing to go the length
it takes confidence
letting God supply the strength.
It takes commitment,
a determination to do God’s will
it takes patience
a willingness to wait and be still.
It takes persistence,
a resolve to keep pressing on
it takes diligence
for the faithful race to be won.
It takes focus,
eyes always kept on the goal
it takes Jesus
to have a conquering soul!
Philippians 3:14
King James Version
“I press toward
the mark
for the prize of the high
calling of God
in Christ Jesus.”
Worldly Things
I Love Jesus free photo by David Elgena # 5344
There is only one God,
in whom I put my trust
all of the other ones
have turned into rust.
I once relied on people,
to bring to me pleasure
but they couldn’t convey
love that I could treasure.
Everything is conditional,
nothing is without a cost
and now I can understand
why so many are truly lost.
I thought if I set my sights,
on the things of this world
that everlasting happiness
I would be able to unfurl.
But, they too soon corroded,
and all turned into dust
that is why it’s only God
in whom I now put my trust.
For His love is eternal,
and brings heavenly rewards
now being with Him one day
is all that I look towards.
My New Year Prayer ~ 2013
Ring in New Year by Matt Gruber free photo #4493
I pray that this New Year,
will ring in God’s peace
I pray for a renewal of  every heart
that all hatred would cease.
I pray for all the innocent,
and for those who desire to kill
I pray for a longing in every heart
to come to know God’s will.
I pray for the helpless people,
and for those who live in sin
I pray for a hunger in every heart
that will let Jesus live within.
I pray for all who are hurting,
and for those who cause the pain
I pray for a thirst in every heart
so Jesus in their lives can reign.
I pray peace will ring in this year,
and all hatred would truly end
I pray for everyone to understand
Jesus is their eternal friend.
A Confident New Year ~
A Confident New Year ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
A New Year is before me,
I know not what it brings
but I have confidence . . .
God’s in control of all things.
I don’t know what is ahead,
the trials of each new day
but I have confidence . . .
Jesus will show me the way.
I may not fully understand,
what the New Year will hold
but I have confidence . . .
He is fitting me to His mold.
I may have incredible gain,
or suffer enormous loss
but I have confidence . . .
it all leads me to the cross.
A New Year is before me,
I know God’s in control
for I have confidence . . .
His love will renew my soul!
