To be happy,
we need to be poor
up in heaven
our treasures we’ll store.
To be happy,
we need to be mournful
over sin
we’ll be remorseful.
To be happy,
we need to be meek
God will be
the first One we seek.
To be happy,
we need to hunger
in God’s Word
we’ll want to linger.
To be happy,
we need to be thirsty
we need to put
Jesus firstly.
To be happy,
we need to be merciful
we’ll need to live
a life purposeful.
To be happy,
we need a pure heart
from God’s ways
we’ll not depart.
To be happy,
we need to be a peacemaker
we’ll need the Holy Spirit
as our icebreaker.
To be blessed,
we need to be these things
than we’ll be happy . . .
no matter what life brings!
