How much longer Lord,
will I be in this wilderness . . .
how much longer, oh my God
will my heart feel this tenderness?
How many more tears Lord,
are there left for me to cry
how many more drops will fall
until they finally dry?
How many more sleepless nights,
will I still go through
how much more restlessness
will inhabit my days too?
How much more grief,
can this heart of mine take
how much more of this pain
till I finally get a break?
How much longer Lord,
will I be in this wilderness . . .
when will You relieve me
with Your loving tenderness?

Psalm 6:2-4
“Have mercy upon me, O Lord;
for I am weak: O Lord, heal me;
for my bones are vexed.
My soul is also sore vexed:
but thou, O Lord, how long?
Return, O Lord, deliver my soul:
oh save me for thy mercies’ sake.”
