When we begin to wander,
go about our own way
the Lord takes notice
knowing we will stray.
As we drift off the path,
of truth and understanding
He knows we’ve departed
from the road everlasting.
He recognizes our error,
He sees that we are inapt
to seek and find for ourselves
the road that’ll take us back.
He won’t leave us for dead,
not one soul, He’d have perish
for every one that He loves
He does forever cherish.
But, He knows we are fragile,
we can’t make it all alone
so, He sends the Holy Spirit
to help and guide us home.
He waits at the door,
to restore the wandering soul
so we can stand before Him
in faith, complete and whole!

shall remain in the congregation of the dead.”

Deborah, has anyone ever told you that you are very blessed, as Helen Steiner Rice was, with both the ability to rhyme and encourage so very well? I am saying it now, dear poet friend.
