Things, things, things . . .
they are everywhere
their causing me grief
misery and despair.
Things, taking up my time,
running my life too
things that are keeping me
from the “thing” I should do.
Things, cluttering up my mind,
taking over my thoughts
things people give me
things that I have bought.
Things, taking me from God,
wasting instead time with them
things ruining my relationship
idols God would condemn.
Things, things, things,
who needs them anymore
getting rid of all my things
and then God I’ll not ignore!

not on things on the earth.”

Amen to this Deborah Ann. Perfect timing. We are declutterizing right now. An emotional and freeing journey.

We moved to a smaller more manageable home last year and I have been blessed by the Lord for giving me less space for less things. I feel free from the burden of things, and now only have what I need. I do not feel the loss only the gain of being without all the clutter all the stuff that would take so much of my time. Less things = more time with the Lord 🙂 ~ Blessings ~

Very good advice, Deborah!
(p.s. you may be from the south and perhaps I am being rude. Do you go by Deborah Ann?)

Thanks Daryl. No I don’t think it is rude asking me about what to call me . . . so here’s a list you can choose from Deb (name friends and some family call me) Debby ( mostly family and work) Deborah ( mom when she is mad at me ) Deborah Ann ( the Lord has me using this name for my poetry) and no I am not from the South . . . I am from the Northern part of California and now live in the Pacific Northwest. Probably more info then you needed but I feel chatty today! ~ Blessings ~

Use to go boating near the delta. Beautiful area. I grew up in Fremont, moved to Santa Rosa and have been here for about 23 years. Miss California, the weather, the sun, the ocean but this place is so green and pretty it’s hard to say if I would ever go back to California. The rain here gets a bit much but I love the winters when we get snow. We are about twenty miles from the Canadian border so we get a lot of their wintry weather.

I loved Santa Rosa it was so beautiful . . . still is . . . but so much more crowded then when I was there. Not sure where Rio Vista is, it’s been a long time since I was in Sacramento . . . I remember the railroad museum took my kids there a few times. Had family up in Grass Valley and we would stop there on our way home.
