Things, Things, Things ~

Things, things, things . . .
they are everywhere
their causing me grief
misery and despair.

Things, taking up my time,
running my life too
things that are keeping me
from the “thing” I should do.

Things, cluttering up my mind,
taking over my thoughts
things people give me
things that I have bought.

Things, taking me from God,
wasting instead time with them
things ruining my relationship
idols God would condemn.

Things, things, things,
who needs them anymore
getting rid of all my  things
and then God I’ll not ignore!
