I know that I offend you,
because I am a Christian
that you believe my Bible
is just a book of fiction.
I know that I upset you,
for believing the way I do
and that my faith in Jesus
doesn’t at all interest you.
I know that you’d prefer,
I would just go away
that you don’t want to hear
what I might have to say.
But I cannot ever stop,
confessing what I believe
and it is my honest prayer
one day Jesus you’ll receive.
For, to me it’s a matter,
of eternal life and death
so I will confess my faith
unashamed, til my dying breath!

Timothy 1:8
King James Version
“Be not thou therefore ashamed
of the testimony of our Lord,
nor of me his prisoner:
but be thou partaker of the afflictions
of the gospel according to
the power of God;”

Would you mind if I used this as a song please? One was forming in my mind as I read it. I’d need to tweak it slightly to make it work but it’s in my head and I’d love to record it for you – if that would be ok

That would be okay with me. I always like to hear how God uses my poems in songs by others. It really makes them come alive. I know to make it fit there needs to me some tweaking so tweak away! ~ Have a less day with Jesus ~

Too many say they are offended when I share my faith . . . yet, they offend me everyday with their way of life and if I say anything I am called a bigot. But, that is OK with me, I believe what I believe and I am not ashamed to say so. Yes we all need to be bolder for our Lord. Amen and Amen ~ Blessings ~

I know exactly where you are coming from with this poem. I have often felt the same but could not express it as eloquently as you did here.
