ABBA ~ My Father

Abba ~ my Father,
has adopted me . . .
into His royal family
so I could be . . .

An heir to salvation,
a daughter of light
a child that brings
to Him great delight.

I’m no longer an orphan,
I’m no longer a stray
I’ve inherited a room
in His mansion I’ll stay.

Abba ~ my Father,
has adopted me . . .
into His royal family
so I can be free . . .

Free from the guilt,
of my wandering ways
free from the darkness
that once filled my days.

The adoption became final,
that day on the Cross
when Jesus died for me
and all those who are lost.

Abba ~ my Father,
has adopted me . . .
into His royal family
so I might see . . .

See His glory,
in the middle of my pain
see His grace fall
like sweet drops of rain.

The inheritance is mine,
I’m claiming my right
and now I have privilege
to His power and might.

Abba ~ my Father,
has adopted me . . .
into His royal family,
I willingly flee . . .

Praise the Lord!

Every Circumstance ~

Every Moment ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

When I am happy,
my praise to God I sing
and I thank Him for . . .
the joy that He brings.

When I’m having troubles,
I seek Him and I pray
and I thank Him for . . .
the peace He’ll send my way.

When I am hurting,
I trust my pain He’ll heal
and I thank Him for . . .
the Holy Spirit’s seal.

When I am doubtful,
I give to Him my fear
and I thank Him for . . .
always being close and near.

Regardless of how I feel,
I praise Him in advance
and I thank the Lord . . .
no matter my circumstance!

I’m Sweating It !

Praying Hands by Megan Isaacson free ohoto #13320

“Don’t sweat the small stuff,”
people often scoff . . .
but I just think they’re giving me
the good old brush off.

What may be small to them,
could be something big to me
they would understand this . . .
if through my eyes, they could see.

You may be the one,
who could make all the difference
and be the person who helps me
to go the full course and distance.

I guess what I am saying,
is something for all to hear . . .
when someone has a problem
give them your prayerful ear.

Encourage them in all things,
no matter how big or small
for even God cares about . . .
the tiny sparrow’s fall!

Dry Seasons ~

Dry seasons . . .
times of spiritual drought
times of sobering doubt

times God’s voice we can’t hear
times of significant fear

times of self-inflected pain
times with no spiritual gain

times of weakness not of strength
times we keep God at arm’s length

times of desperation and lack
times we turn on God our back

times to reflect from within
times to confess known sin

times that we learn and grow
times for God’s mercy to show

times to meditate and pray
times to hear what He’s to say

Dry seasons . . .
times of spiritual growth
times made by God ~ for you both!

I am What I am!

All things New by Michael McFatridge free photo #11721

I am what I am,
a child of God ~ he’s made me
I’m just another sinner
who my Savior has set free.

I am what I am,
now that Jesus lives in me
justified and sanctified
by the cross of Calvary.

I am what I am,
saved by mercy and grace
a new creature in my Lord
running the faithful race.

I am what I am,
redeemed from the enemy
delivered from the powers of dark
into a light that’s heavenly.

I am what I am,
an imitator of Jesus’ life
the salt and light of the world
a laborer against man’s strife.

I am what I am,
all my needs have been met
blessed with all spiritual blessings
for His stripes have paid my debt.

I am what I am,
strong in His power and might
I can do all things when I walk
by faith and not by sight.

I am what I am,
a child of God, Jesus made me
just another sinner who’s found grace
and trusting Him ~ for what I can’t see!

The Beam of Pride ~

The Beam of Pride ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

One day in the mirror,
I was shocked at what I saw
I had not seen it before
but now I saw the flaw.

How long it had been there,
I really did not know . . .
I was really surprised
it took this long to show.

Now that I’m getting older,
my eyesight isn’t very good
but it was looking at me
right there where I stood.

It wasn’t a pretty sight,
in other’s I’ve noticed it
but in my own eye . . .
I didn’t think it would fit.

One day in the mirror,
I saw something broad and wide
and on it was written . . .
“this is beam of you own pride!”

A Real Awakening!

Holy Spirit by George Webster free photo #8684

Lord . . .

I need a hallelujah push,
a Holy Spirit thrust
so that my faith in You
I will learn to always trust.

I need Your love to move me,
I need to set it in motion
so I can start to show You
the true depth of my devotion.

Lord I need a heavenly shove,
off this pedestal I am on
I need a new revelation
so any doubts will  be gone.

Lord . . .

I need a hallelujah spur,
a Holy Spirit quaking
I need my love for You
to have a real awakening!

Just Sit!

Burning Both Ends by Mark Robinson free photo #3964

Lord, some days, I’m just too busy,
with everything that I must do
and I don’t have much time
to spend alone with you.

I’ve got a list of to-do’s,
that is at least a mile long
I work my finger to the bones
so my time with You ~ I prolong.

Lord, I get so distracted,
with all the noises in my head
voices telling me ~ before You
they must always, be put ahead.

They yell and scream at me,
they order me what  to do
leaving me no quiet time . . .
to spend with only You.

Lord,  I’m so exhausted,
at the end of my busy day
I find it hard to concentrate
when I go to bed and pray.

My mind really isn’t in it,
I know that this is wrong
but, I’m still working on that list
and now its a million miles long.

Lord, teach me what’s important,
and what I need to omit . . .
for I just want to be with You
and would be delighted to ~ just sit!

Luke 10:40-42
King James Version

“But Martha was cumbered about much serving,
and came to him, and said, Lord,
dost thou not care that my sister
hath left me to serve alone?

Martha, Martha, thou art careful
and troubled about many things:

But one thing is needful:
and Mary hath chosen that good part,
which shall not be taken away from her.”

Keep on Keeping On ~

Keep On ~ Keeping On ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Some days it is so easy,
to run the faithful race
for I know at the finish line
I’m going to see Jesus’ face.

When my eyes are on the goal,
of meeting Jesus at the end
I run with confidence
around every twist and bend.

Then there are the days,
when I am not up to the race
for I’m running in my pride
not in the favor of His grace.

It’s funny how on those days,
every hurdle becomes a trap
and I feel like giving up
before I make another lap.

I know to run the good race,
on Jesus, I need to concentrate
if I’m going to see the insides
of heaven’s pearly gates.

I know to be dedicated,
to keep on ~ keeping on . . .
I’ll need God’s strength
and the Holy Spirit’s brawn!

I Will Carry You ~

I Will Carry You ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

When you’re feeling over burdened,
and the answers are far and few
when your troubles cause you to stumble
I will carry you ~

When you’re feeling overwhelmed,
and you don’t know what more to do
when your worries take you to your knees
I will carry you ~

When you’re beaten up and broken,
and you have no one else to turn to
when you feel weak and faint
I will carry you ~

When your life becomes unraveled,
and everything seems to be askew
when your cares cause you to collapse
I will carry you ~

When you’re tired and oppressed,
and another day you can’t make through
when your agony causes you to cave in
I will carry you ~

When your path becomes uncertain,
and yet, yesterday the way you knew
when your journey comes to an end . . .
it’s because I’ve carried you!

Season’s Reasons ~

April Thunderstrom by M Jones free photo #14564

There’s a reason for each season,
whether it be good or bad
there is a divine purpose
and a lesson to be had.

Some days God sends sunshine,
with a beautiful, clear blue sky
days filled with the knowledge
in Him, we can always rely.

Some days God rolls out the clouds,
once blue skies start to gray
days filled with wind and rain
and over storms we must pray.

Some days God sends a rainbow,
amidst the clouds above
to remind us in any season
we can find rest in His love.

Sometimes the days are calm,
sometimes the wind blows about
but in each season God send us  . . .
a reason why in Him we needn’t doubt!

To Know God ~

To Know God ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Oh, to know the love of God,
in all its awesome wonder
there would not be one soul
to Him, that wouldn’t surrender.

For, if each person really knew,
the compassion He has for all
upon His holy name
everyone, would come to call.

Oh, to know the grace of God,
and the debt that was paid
there would not be one soul
whose heart, couldn’t be swayed.

For, the gift of His unmerited favor,
to the world God has given
and Jesus lived, so He could die
so the sins of all would be forgiven.

Oh, to know the mercy of God,
the tenderness of His heart
there would not be one soul
that from Him, would ever part.

For, God created every creature,
for His pleasure and delight
and there is not one soul
who He could not make aright.

Oh, to know the peace of God,
to put an end to the terrors of war
then every soul would stand
with Jesus on heaven’s shore!

Where There’s Forgiveness ~

Where There Is Forgiveness ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah amm

Where there is forgiveness,
there is relief
where there is forgiveness
there is belief.

For, when you forgive someone,
God will set your heart free
and from the pain and hurt
He will heal your memory.

Where there is forgiveness
there is love
where there is forgiveness
there is a God above.

For, when you forgive another,
God’s love you will release
and the anguish that you feel
will turn to everlasting peace.

Where there is forgiveness,
there is light
where there is forgiveness
there is new sight.

For, when you forgive someone,
God’s own heart will shine through
and you’ll see all the reasons
why Jesus died for you!

2 Corinthians 2:10

to whom I forgave it, for your sakes
forgave I it in the person of Christ;”

God Still Moves . . .

hands free photo

He still moves mountains,
He will remove yours too
He can do the impossible
because . . .  He loves you.

He parts the sea,
He turns water into wine
He can restore your life
by making you, His vine.

He heals the sick,
He helps blind men to see
He can open up your eyes
just like He did . . . for me.

He makes the lame walk,
He can turn your life around
He can show you the way
guide you, to solid ground.

Yes, God can change you,
right where you are
He can make you complete
heal every ugly scar.

He still does miracles,
He will perform one today
for He is the Potter . . .
and you are His clay!

Spirit Lead ~

Spirit Lead ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Each day when I wake up,
I get out of my bed
place my feet on the floor
and pray to be Spirit lead.

I make my way to the kitchen,
pour myself a cup of coffee
and I ask the Lord . . .
“Make Your ways clear to me.”

I go upstairs to my office,
turn on my desk light
picking up my Bible . . .
I pray for clarity of sight.

I don’t want to read,
His Word for the sake of it
I want my eyes to be opened
so in Christ, I’ll be a better fit.

I pray as I study,
over what God has to say
I carry what I’ve learned
in my heart through the day.

Each night when I retire,
I lay down in my bed
and I pray to the Lord . . .
“Tomorrow may I be Spirit lead!”

From Our Lips to God’s Ears ~

Worship by Lucindy Garcia

From our lips to God’s ears,
our praise for Him He hears
glorious, wonderful words of praise
from our lips to God’s ears.

The children of God rejoice,
they find delight in His name
for He is the everlasting Light
that keeps their hearts aflame.

Those who trust in the Lord,
raise up their voices and sing
they gather from all around
to worship and praise their King.

They clap their hands with joy,
and lift up their arms in praise
on their lips there is gratitude
for the Savior He has raised.

Their hearts are filled with His love,
they hold not on to their fears
glorious, wonderful words of praise
from our lips to God’s ears!

Friendship ~

The Friendship Effect byClint Doggett free photo #5322

God sent me your friendship,
for He knew that I would need
someone just like you . . .
who’s willing to guide and lead.

You’ve shown me His grace,
by being loving and kind
a friendship such as ours
is a very precious find.

When we are not together,
my thoughts turn to you
and I thank the dear Lord
for all the things you do.

We laugh and we pray,
we giggle and we weep
we’ve found that the two of us
make up a flock of His sheep.

Friendships like the one we have,
now-a-days are so very rare
and the reason we’re so close
is because Jesus we can share.

So thank you my sweet friend,
for being there for me . . .
you have opened up my heart
to what true friendship outta be!

The Waters of Faith ~

The Waters of Faith ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Faith is like a stream,
it has its ups and downs
but, when you trust in Jesus
it can turn your life around.

One day it may rise,
the next day it may fall
but, every day it’s for certain
on Jesus, you can always call.

Faith is like an ocean,
it comes and goes in waves
but, when anchored unto Jesus
from the raging tide, it saves.

Sometimes it is powerful,
other times it ebbs in and out
but, when it’s secure in Jesus
it will rise above your doubt.

Faith is like a river,
it can be quiet or rumbling
but, when you hold on to Jesus
you’ll walk without stumbling.

It may be dry one day,
but, it never will cease to flow
for, when you trust in Jesus
your faith will only grow!

Matthew 21:21
King James Version

“Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you,
If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this
which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto
this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea;
it shall be done.”

Keep Me Lord ~

Hold On by Marian Trinidad free photo #8554

Lord, keep me on Your course,
don’t let me get off the track
keep me looking forward
help me not to look back.

Lord, keep me going straight,
in the right and true direction
keep me seeking for my shelter
in the arms of Your protection.

Lord, keep me walking closely,
on the path You’ve laid for me
keep me searching for only You
until it’s Your light that I see.

Lord, keep me on the narrow,
no matter how small it gets
keep me from falling far away
so I have no life’s regrets.

Lord, keep me moving onward,
until I catch up with You
keep me holding Your hand
on my journey to be with You.

Jesus Is Always There!

Through all the pain and sorrow,
the ones we own, the ones we borrow
the ones we make, the ones we bear
Jesus is always there!

Within all the grief of our tears,
the ones of love, the ones of fears
the ones we cause, the ones we share
Jesus is always there!

During all the trials and tribulations
the ones of hope, the ones of frustrations
the ones we conceal, the ones we declare
Jesus is always there!

In all the uncertainties that lay ahead,
the ones we know, the ones we dread
the ones we risk, the ones we dare
Jesus is always there!

Throughout the storms of this life,
the ones of calm, the ones of strife
the ones we cede, the ones we fare
Jesus is always there!

Guilt Defeated . . .

Guilt is just a word,
that gets in our way
we often trip upon it
as we go about the day.

It’s Satan’s wisest tool,
in his shed of endless blame
it’s meant to provoke in us
a sense of regret and shame.

He takes out his pick,
and chips away at our soul
uncovering all our faults
is his deceitful goal.

He uses guilt to remind us,
of the mistakes we have made
not wanting us to forget them
nor let their memories fade.

With his axe and shovel,
he digs for us a pit
telling us as Christians
we’re not really fit.

So, the next time you feel,
guilt tugging at your feet
call out the name of Jesus
and Satan you’ll defeat!

Shipwrecked ~

Shipwrecked ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
When the wind’s been taken out,
from under the sails of your life
when overcome by the high seas
causing you so much strife.

When the boat you’re in,
springs a slow and steady leak
when the waters you’re treading
make you feel faint and weak.

When the ship you’re steering,
turns into a total wreck . . .
when the water’s start to rise
just below your neck.

When all you have left is a dingy,
but the paddles can’t be found
when your longing for the safety
that comes on solid ground.

When you’re ready to give up,
before you abandon ship . . .
turn the helm over to Jesus
and He’ll keep you in His grip!

Plant A Word Today ~

Plant A Word Today ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Plant a Word today,
prepare another’s heart
then sow the seed of faith
and watch what it will start.

Plant a Word today,
spread the Gospel tract
then water it with trust
and others lives it will impact.

Plant a Word today,
release the plan of peace
then sprinkle it with hope
and God’s power it will release.

Plant a Word today,
share the fruit of Christ’s love
then watch it grow up
giving praise to God above.

Plant a Word today,
it just takes one tiny seed . . .
but with it you may harvest
all someone’s soul will ever need!

I See God’s Wonder ~

I See God's Wonder ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

I see God’s wonder,
I see His light
it does not fade
into the night.

It shines brighter,
than the morning sun
for it radiates the love
of His begotten Son.

I see the distance,
between God and man
I know His love
fills the spacious span.

For, His love is eternal,
forever it will go on
just as sure as there is
each day a new dawn.

I see God’s glory,
making all things new
and I pray you can . . .
see it, for yourself too!

Hope on, all you who are in unending pain,
hope on, for soon you are going to gain
rest and comfort that only God can give
so hold on, and in His peace you shall live!

Those Who Wait On the Lord ~

Those who wait on the Lord,
shall ride out the storm ahead
they shall climb over any doubt
for they are Spirit lead.

Those who wait on the Lord,
shall fly against the strongest gust
they shall soar above their sorrow
because in God they trust.

Those who wait on the Lord,
shall run a good and faithful race
they shall not grow faint or weary
for they are filled with His grace.

Those who wait on the Lord,
shall walk the talk they believe in
they shall go up against this world
and not get caught up in sin.

Those who wait on the Lord,
shall arise and take their stand
they shall rise up against temptation
for they put their life in His hand.

Those who wait on the Lord,
shall conquer every doubt and fear
they shall endure to the end
for they know His Kingdom is near!

~~~~~~~~~
Isaiah 40:31
King James Version
“But those who wait on the Lord,
shall renew their strength:
they shall mount up with wings like eagles,
they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint.”
Take Me Deeper Lord ~
Take me deeper Lord, take me deep,
no more just skimming the surface
no more being shallow or superficial
no more just giving You lip service.
Take me deeper Lord, take me deep,
take me to the center of Your life
no more lack of spiritual power
take me out of my self-imposed strife.
Take me deeper Lord, take me deep,
take me to where You’re in control
no more self-centered desires
take me to where I surrender to You all.
Take me deeper Lord, take me deep,
take me to the depth of Your heart
no more not trusting or doubting
take away from me what keeps us apart.
Take me deeper Lord, take me deep,
take me to where we are immersed
no more wandering or roaming around
take me to where I’ll put You first.
Take me deeper Lord, take me deep,
deeper more, deeper yet, deeper still
take me all the way down into You
until I rise knowing Your perfect will!
Ticket To Heaven ~
Ticket to Heaven ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
I’m a citizen of heaven,
got my passport in my hand
one day I’m going to go
to the promised land.
My name’s in the book of life,
soon I’ll be heaven bound
I can hardly wait . . .
till my feet hit the ground.
Jesus has my room ready,
He’ll be there at the door
inside  there’s gonna be
my treasures He has stored.
My ticket is in my pocket,
it says that I’ll be leaving
and soon to the Lord
in heaven, I’ll be cleaving.
I got me a reservation,
in His mansion, I will stay
and nothing gonna keep me . . .
from that promised day!
~~~~~~~

John 14:2-3

“In my Father’s house
are many mansions:

if it were not so,
I would have told
you.
I go to prepare
a place for you.

And if I go and prepare
a place for you,

I will come again,
and receive you unto

myself; that where I am,
there ye may be
also.”

To Be That Deer ~

To Be That Deer ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Lord, may I be that deer,
that pants after You
may Your living waters
in my life, keep running true.

May I thirst after You,
more and more each day
may I find Your mercies
as I go along my way.

May I long to seek You,
to know Your perfect will
may You be the strength
keeping me calm and still.

May I sip from the brook,
flowing with eternal grace
may it be Your undying love
my heart, cries to embrace.

Lord, may my life reflect,
my desire to be near
may my soul pant . . .
after You, like that deer!

~~~~~~~~
Psalm 42:1-2
King James Version
“As the hart panteth
after the water brooks,
so panteth my soul after thee,
O God.
My soul thirsteth for God,
for the living God:
when shall I come
and appear before God?”
The Way ~
The Way by Chris Kennedy free photo
Lord, lead me in the Word,
teach me where to go
make Your way plain
so Your path I will know.
Show me Your truths,
let them light up the way
open my heart and my ears
to the words, You have to say.
Instruct me in patience,
teach me to be still
until I have clear knowledge
as to what is Your will.
You’re the God of my hope,
I’ll wait for Your direction
all day I will pray
to the Lord of my salvation.
Lord, lead me in the Word,
teach me Your perfect ways
make Your path plain to me
for the rest of my days!
My Salvation, My Peace
My Salvation ~ My Peace ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
I wait for the stillness,
as I silently pray
I wait for the Lord
to come and enter my day.
I expect Him to draw near,
and bring me His strength
I expect Him to go with me
the full course and length.
I depend on my God,
to give me His lasting power
I depend on Him to help me
no matter the hour.
I trust in my Rock,
to defend and protect me
I trust He is my shelter
from every storm at sea.
I believe He is my Lord,
my salvation, my peace
I believe He is right here
standing within my reach.
I know that alone,
He is all that I need
I know He will guide me
and His Spirit will lead!
King James Version
“My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my expectation is from Him.”
I Can Climb This Mountain ~
Mountain BanffRon by Ron Manke free photo #5744
I know I can do this,
I am sure that I can . . .
I can climb up this mountain
I know that I can.
I can scale over this burden,
I can get up over this wall
I can climb up this mountain
without fearing that I’ll fall.
I can ascend over this problem,
I can move beyond the panic
I can climb up this mountain
and not give in to being frantic.
I know I can do this,
I am sure that I can . . .
I can climb up this mountain
I know that I can.
I can get over this obstacle,
I can go further,  I am sure
I can climb up this mountain
and still feel safe and secure.
I can rise above this trial,
I can soar up even higher
I can climb up this mountain
and do what is required.
I know I can do this,
I know for sure that I can . . .
I can climb up this mountain
I know with Jesus that I can!
My Peace ~
My Peace I Leave You ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
Peace, I leave you
My peace you’ll know
it will be with you
wherever you go.
Peace, unimaginable,
peace ever calm
peace as refreshing
as a cool soothing balm.
In times of trouble,
in times of woe
My peace in your heart
I will surely grow.
Peace, that reconciles,
peace that will unite
peace that is eternal
full of truth and light.
My peace surpasses,
that which you know
My peace I leave you
because I love you so!
~~~~~~~~~~

my peace I give unto you:
not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid.”

Closer ~

Closer ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

The closer I’m to the Lord,
the more I feel His peace
as the burdens on my soul
onto Him I release.

The closer I’m to Jesus,
the more of His grace I find
as the worries on my heart
no longer play on my mind.

The closer I’m to my Savior,
the more I know I’m blessed
for the nearer I’m to Him
the more I have perfect rest.

The closer I’m to the Lord,
the closer He is to me . . .
there’s no place in the world
that I would rather be!

Mommy’s Sweet Little Sheep

Mother's Day by Brandon Johnson free -photo # 5824

Demands knocking on the door,
in the early morning hours . . .
needing drinks, something to eat
zapping mommy’s sleep and power.

Toasting, pouring, filling cups,
hungry baby begins to scream
washer started, dryer going, folding never!
Welcome to mommy’s daily chaotic theme.

Feeling tired, needing coffee,
breakfast strewed across the kitchen floor
little boys jumping, running, shrieking . . .
naked out the front room door!

Washing, scrubbing, water running,
dishes piling high ~ higher in the sink
dirty diapers, dirty hampers, dirty hands
mommy’s sanity always tested to the brink.

Shopping, stopping, going crazy,
with three little rascals in mommy’s tow
fighting, crying, yelling ~ Silence Now!
Mommy’s temper starts to boil and blow.

Stashing, storing, putting away,
lunchtime madness nearly here . . .
paying bills, wiping spills
nap time cries ~ mommy prays to hear.

Dinner planning, making, baking,
playtime promises, park time bliss
running, jumping, falling down
two little knees that need mommy’s kiss.

Daddy working, coming home soon,
six little feet ~ eagerly wait to greet
act as if they’ve not been a problem
for daddy they are ~ angle sweet.

Daddy’s home, gives out love and hugs,
asks mommy dear ~ how was her day
wild, crazy, frantic, hectic . . . . name it!
Daddy knows he best, stay out of her way.

Three little roaring, howling tigers,
now sleeping like sweet little sheep
mommy thanks God for her blessings . . .
and for the peace and quiet while they sleep!

He Listens to Me ~

Psalm 116.1-2 used with permission doorstop verses
I love the Lord,
He listens to me
one day in heaven
I know we will be.

For He’s given me,
the gift of grace
a sure guarantee
I will see His face.

When I cry out,
I know He hears
only He knows how
to dry my tears.

His mercy I claim,
my heart is afire
as long as I live
His voice will inspire.

I love the Lord,
I know He loves me
and will until the day
with Him in heaven I be!

Be Still ~

Be Still ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Be still, my soul, be at peace,
let not thy worries overcome
be still, and know He is your God
and will . . . your heart-strings . . . strum.

Be still, my heart and let go,
let surrender be thy sweet release
be still, and know God’s saving power
to eternity, can never fail or cease.

Be still, my mind and surrender all,
let thy weakness take you to your knees
be still, and know of God’s sufficiency
where His glory surpasses all thy needs.

Be still, my spirit admit thy defeat,
let thyself dwell on things from above
be still, and know He is in control
and be strengthened by and in His love.

Be still, my soul be at peace,
let Him complete in thee His perfect will
be still, and know He is your God
and will . . . your heart-strings . . . still.

Alive, I’m Alive

Alive, I’m alive,
dead to transgression and sin
I’m alive, I’m reborn
now that Jesus lives within.

I’m alive, I’m flourishing,
I’m eternally bound
I’m alive, I was lost
now I’m thankfully found.

I’m alive, I’m at peace,
in Jesus, I am forgiven
I’m alive, forever more
a new life, I’ve been given.

I’m alive, I’m thriving,
His Spirit is breathing in me
I’m alive, everlastingly blessed
now that Jesus set me free.

Alive, I’m alive,
by grace and grace alone
I’m alive and I’m waiting
for Jesus to take me home!

He Knows Your Name ~

I Know Your Name ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

You I have formed,
your name I know
with you in this life
I will be sure to go.

No oceans too deep,
no rivers too wide
a way out of your troubles
to you I’ll provide.

Wherever you go,
I’ll be with you
whatever you face
I’ll see it through.

No flame shall sear,
your heart from Me
for I’ll kindle the fire
so My love you’ll see.

There’s nothing to fear,
there’s no need to dread
for I’ve redeemed you
with Life giving Bread.

I’ll never leave you,
for thou art Mine
on the days of your life
My light I’ll shine.

~~~~~~~~
Isaiah 43:1-3
King James Version
“But now thus saith the LORD that created thee,
O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel,
Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called
thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest
through the waters, I will be with thee;
and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee:
when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not
be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour:”
Temptation’s Tree
Temptation by Aaron Justin free photo # 2588
Oh, the fruit of unrighteousness,
glisten on temptation’s tree
calling out to all the world . . .
“Come and take a look at me.”
Lush, ripe, and ever ready,
it hangs for every eye to see
calling out to all the world . . .
“Come and take a taste of me.”
Always waiting to be picked,
a feast to satisfy is a guarantee
calling out to all the world . . .
“Come and take a bite of me.”
Within its juicy, thriving flesh,
lies its poisonous, evil seed
calling out to all the world . . .
“I am all that you’ll ever need.”
Oh, how man’s unrighteous deeds,
were paid in full, on Calvary’s tree
Jesus calling out to all the world . . .
“I have come to set you free.”
A Song of Joy ~
Hands held High by Matt Gruber free photo #336
There is a song,
rising up in me
it’s full of joy
happiness and glee.
It’s melody,
is one that I hum
upon my heart strings
I can feel it strum.
My two hands,
can’t stay still
they rise high
to the tune I feel.
My arms lift up,
as His power grows
in my soul
His Spirit glows.
My song is Jesus,
every day I sing
my praises to Him
for everything.
So, rise up with me,
let your troubles go
sing my song of trust
and let your praise flow!
Psalm 28:7
therefore my heart
greatly rejoiceth;
will I praise him”
His Eyes are Everywhere ~
His Eyes Are Everywhere ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
The eyes of the Lord are everywhere,
there isn’t anything He can’t see
He can peer through the darkest cloud
and see past the depth of the bluest sea.
The eyes of the Lord are forever watching,
they want to see whose heart is upright
they are looking to see if there is anyone
who is pleasing and righteous in His sight.
The eyes of the Lord are always searching,
they are constantly moving back and forth
they are scanning over the entire earth
spinning from the south to the north.
His eyes are on the souls of everyone,
He is looking for anyone that He can find
for those who will eternally love Him
with their whole heart and all their mind.
They are turning to the east and the west,
they are perpetually moving to and fro
over the whole universe they are moving
they are searching both high and low.
The eyes of the Lord are searching,
He is looking everywhere He can
He is seeking those who still believe
in the Words of the Son of Man.
The eyes of the Lord are everywhere,
there isn’t anything He can’t see
He can see through the heart of man
and right now He’s looking at you and me!
My ROCKing Chair ~
Proverbs 19.23 used with permission Doorpost Verses
On my rocking chair,
I’m sitting comfortably
rocking back and forth
oh, so ever enjoyably.
Though, I have troubles,
I’m rocking none the less
I’m letting God help me
take care of this mess.
On my rocking chair,
I’m sitting peacefully
rocking to and fro
oh, so ever calmly.
Though, I have worries,
I haven’t me a care
for while I am rocking
He’s listening to my prayer.
On my rocking chair,
I’m sitting quietly
rocking up and down
oh, so ever serenely.
Though, I have problems,
I’m gonna keep rocking
God’s got me an  answer
and soon He’ll be talking.
On my rocking chair,
I’m trusting and believing
and I know His response
soon I’ll be receiving!
The World’s Weak ~
Pain by Matt Gruber free photo #2937
Hurting Christians all around,
I hear your pain, I know the sound
I pray for every one of you tonight
that God will shed upon you His light.
I know your hurts are for real,
you cannot help what you feel
I know that God hears you too
yet, you don’t know what to do.
In this world that takes and takes,
there is no room for your mistakes
if you believe and trust in God
to the world, you’re a fake and fraud.
We’re not perfect, God knows this,
and for this reason the mark we miss
but, we will rise above our fall
try again, even if we have to crawl.
Our Lord Jesus saves us from,
the pounding beat of Satan’s drum
for it is His will  ~ that we seek
and His strong, are the world’s weak.
My First Love ~
Come to Me by Jason Harper free photo #3244
Under the arbor of my soul,
with my First Love, I sit and rest
the fragrance of His grace
reminds me of how much I’m blessed.
On the trellis of my mind,
He supports my every limb
He reinforces His love for me
so I may lean evermore on Him.
Beneath the lattice of my heart,
there lies an undying devotion
and the mercy He has for me
consumes me with raw emotion.
He is the framework of my faith,
my life in Jesus is forever entwined
and the love I found under the arbor
is of His plan and by His design!
Hidden in My Heart ~
Hidden in My Heart ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann belka
Hidden deep in my heart,
way down in the crevices
I’ve tucked the Word of God
along with all of its messages.
God has given me verses,
at specific times of need
making His way clear to me
through the passages that I read.
The Word is the ammo,
that I use when Satan calls
I throw at him a Scripture
that’s sure to make him fall.
I keep the Word handy,
it’s always on my mind
I reflect on it daily
so true peace I can find.
One day they may take my Bible,
but, they cannot take my heart
for I store God’s Word safely there
so from it, I’ll never be apart!
He Guides My Feet ~
~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~ steps IBible Verses
He guides my feet,
over the mountain tops
onto high ground
He lets me rest and stop.
He leads my steps,
into the green vales
where living waters flow
without halt or fail.
He shines His light,
ahead of my footsteps
the Word directs my way
His love it projects.
He takes me to places,
to share the Good News
He sends me on a path
so His truth I can pursue.
One day we’ll be together,
one day ~ we shall meet
until then I pray . . .
He’ll keep directing my feet.
Claiming My Birthright
I Am, You Are by Matt Cole free photo #7694
I am claiming my birthright,
I’m going to have it certified
I am declaring my peace in God
I’m going to have it formalized.
I am claiming my forgiveness,
I’m going to change my ways
I am going to trust the Lord
with the rest of my living days.
I am claiming my inner healing,
I’m going to have a new heart
I am going to get rid of the things
keeping me and the Lord apart.
I am claiming my eternal hope,
I’m going to be filled with joy
I am going to rely on His Spirit
I am going claim my legal right
Sometimes when you lose,
Flex Your Faith Muscle!
The Battle Within by Diorama Studios free phot # 4028
There is no temptation,
no bait, no trap, no lure
that Satan won’t use on you
so your soul he can secure.
He will throw out anything,
that he thinks will entice you
and he knows before hand
just what He wants to do.
But, God has promised us,
that if in Him we stay faithful
He will help us to withstand
temptations push and pull.
For there’s been no attraction,
that’s not common to all man
God knows what we can bear
and He has for us an exit plan.
So, next time Satan tempts you,
and he tries to confuse or perplex
just rely on the Lord’s strength
then let your faith muscle flex!
“There hath no temptation taken you but such
as is common to man: but God is faithful, who
make a way to escape, that ye may be able
to bear it.”
If The Lord Is Our Shepherd ~
If The Lord is Our Shepherd ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
If the Lord is our Shepherd,
then why do we still want?
If He supplies all our needs,
then why do our lacks still taunt?
If besides still waters He leads,
then why do we still fear?
If He fills us with quietness,
then why is it not here?
If green pastures bring peace,
then why are we still stressed?
If He leaves us not lacking,
then why don’t we feel blessed?
If He restores our soul,
then why do we still doubt?
If He satisfies our deep thirst,
then why is their still a drought?
If in righteousness He guides,
then why do we still wander?
If the Lord is your True Shepherd,
these things . . .
we would not have to ponder!
Road Kill!
The Way by Chris Kennedy free photo
So often, we travel too fast,
on this road of believing
and we don’t notice God
in all that we are seeing.
Fast lanes, fast planes,
quickly gets us there . . .
and where we are going
at times we don’t really care.
We make so little effort,
to seek God along the way
and seldom recognize Jesus
as we go about our day.
We don’t ask for directions,
for we have our own road map
and we are just too proud
to lay the route in God’s lap.
On the road, on the fly,
we are constantly traveling
and we can’t see that our faith
in the Lord is unraveling.
As the road starts to narrow,
we often take the wrong turn
and then we blame God . . .
when we crash and burn.
We go to Jesus for repair,
and He fixes up the dent
but we’re not always thankful
for what is heaven-sent.
So often we travel too fast,
with God we aren’t still
and our faith and trust in Jesus. . .
ends up being ~ just road kill!
John 14:6
King James Version
“Jesus saith unto him,
I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
God of Promise ~
God Promise to You by Sherman Jackson free photo #4628
Weaved throughout the Bible,
are God’s promises galore
assurances guaranteed
for us to read and explore.
There are promises of hope,
for today and the future
each one an eternal pledge
to give our soul a booster.
There’s the promise of comfort,
the wiping away of our tears
and the one that brings us peace
knowing Jesus will calm our fears.
There are promises to supply us,
with our earthly wants and needs
and deliver us from the afflictions
of our worldly acts and deeds.
And then there is this promise,
all of us must cling on to . . .
the good work that He started
He guarantees to see it through!
Romans 4:21
King James Version
“And being fully persuaded that,
what he had promised,
he was able also to perform.”
The god Of This Age ~
Be watchful of the Wicked One,
for he is the Great Deceiver
he is roaming around like a Lion
looking to devour every believer.
He is like the Dragon of Old,
still spewing out his poison mire
be careful of this godless Beast
or you’ll spend eternity in his fire.
For, he is the King of Babylon,
the King of the Bottomless Pit
where he’s making plenty of room
for the lost and unsaved to fit.
Beware of the Prince of the Air,
the Ruler of the World, the Thief
for he is the Grand Old Liar
and wants to rob you of your belief.
He is the Evil and Lawless one,
our Adversary, the Father of Lies
and it is his soul’s desire
that all shall look into his eyes.
He is the Man of Sin, our Accuser,
the Tempter and your Murderer
he is the Power of Darkness within
he is Satan, the Serpent Lucifer.
Be on the alert for the Anti Christ,
the Angel of Light, the god of this Age
he will transform himself into peace
before he sets off his bloody rage!
~~~~~~~~~~~

Ephesians 2:2
King James Version

“Wherein in time past
ye walked

according to the
course of this world,

according to the prince
of the power of the air,

the spirit that now worketh
in the children of disobedience:”

Unanswered Prayer ~

prayer-of-a-son-or-daughter-150x150

Unanswered prayers,
where do they go?
The answer to this,
everyone wants to know.

Do they aimlessly travel,
through time and space?
Do they fail to reach heaven,
and met up with God’s grace?

Unanswered prayers,
so many are made
and so often our faith
begins to dim and fade.

But, God has His reasons,
for not fulfilling our prayers
and it has nothing to do with
whether or not He still cares.

Unanswered prayers,
God has heard each one
and sometimes they go unfulfilled
when we don’t trust in His Son.

Sometimes they go by the wayside,
because of the bitterness we hold
and the root of unforgiveness
has made our hearts grow cold.

Sometimes it’s unconfessed sin,
that stands in the way
sometimes it’s the motives
we use when we pray.

Sometimes it’s our faith,
and our wavering doubt
sometimes it’s when we shut
God’s authority out.

But most of the time,
it’s because we’re too impulsive
and things have to be right
for God is never compulsive.

Unanswered prayers,
God has a good reason
and His answers will come
in their due season!

John 15:7
“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in
you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall
be done for you.”

1 John 3:22
“And whatever we ask we receive from Him,
because we keep His commandments and do
those things that are pleasing in His sight.”

1 Peter 3:12
“For the eyes of the LORD are on the
righteous, And His ears are open to their
prayers; But the face of the LORD is against
those who do evil.”

James 4:3
“You ask and do not receive, because you
ask amiss, that you may spend it on your
pleasures.”
