After God’s Own Heart ~

I want to have a heart,
after God’s own heart
so that into it . . .
His mercy He’ll impart.

I want to be humble,
reverent and respectful
I want to be for my sins
repentant and regretful.

I want to be trusting,
fearless and faithful
I want to be obedient
thankful and grateful.

I want to be considerate,
loving and compassionate
I want to be devoted
fervent and passionate.

I want a heart like David’s,
one willing to go and do
anything that God asks . . .
I want to be loyal and true!

My Father’s Wings ~

My Father’s wings are strong,
they’re as wide as they’re long
my Father’s wings are mighty
they’re not erratic or flighty.

My Father’s wings are protecting,
they’re shielding and defending
my Father’s wings are bountiful
they’re gracious and masterful.

My Father’s wings are sure,
they’re sheltering and secure
my Father’s wings are assuring
they’re healing and repairing.

My Father’s wings are everlasting,
they’re resilient and trusting
my Father’s wings are powerful
they’re compassionate and merciful.

My Father’s wings are strong,
they’re as wide as they’re long
my Father’s wings are peaceful
they bring comfort to His faithful!

Resting in the Lord ~

I’m resting,
I’m waiting on the Lord
some people say . . .
I look a little bored.

But, I’m trusting,
see how I am still
it’s because I know
it’s all about His will.

Yep, that me,
looking sweet as a lamb
Only because I know . . .
He sees me as I am.

Waiting, anticipating,
nothing to worry about
I have faith in my Lord
what is there to doubt?

God’s timing is perfect,
so I am just hanging
He’s teaching me to be still
and I’m not even panting!
