James 5:16

Effectual Prayers ~

I will tell you my faults,
you too can tell me about yours
then with God’s solutions
we can passionately explore.

I’ll pray for your failings,
for mine you can pray too
then with God’s responses
together we can review.

I’ll tell you my shortcoming,
yours with me you can share
then with God’s promises
we can both firmly declare.

I’ll pray for your weakness,
you can also pray for mine
then with what is God’s will
we can both eagerly find.

You can pray for my faults,
I will pray for yours too . . .
then let’s fervently watch . . .
what with them God will do!

Tangible Power ~

There is tangible power,
behind every prayer . . .
when to God our requests
we continually share.

There is genuine hope,
praying unceasingly
when to God we take
our prayers repeatedly.

There is eternal joy,
for others when we pray
when to God we entreat
for their souls everyday.

There is concrete faith,
praying and agreeing
when to God we remain
trusting and believing.

There is effective power,
in our daily supplicating
when to God our prayers
we keep on duplicating!

Afternoon Ponderings~11.16.19

Prayers For You My Friend ~

God put you my friend,
on my heart today
He told me for you
He wanted me to pray.

So I went to Him,
while on my knees
and sent up for you
theses heartfelt pleas.

Oh, Father whatsoever,
is Your perfect will
till my friend knows
help them to be still.

Take away their fears,
guard their heart and mind
so that on this journey
your peace they can find.

Be with them always,
do not leave their side
let the Light in Your Word
be their constant guide.

Give them Your power,
the courage to press on
let them claim victory
in the name of Your Son.

Help them not to get tired,
in the battle they must fight
let them feel energized
with the Holy Spirit’s might.

Oh, Father I believe,
you listen to our prayers
and so I come to You  . . .
with my friend’s earthly cares!

I Said A Prayer For You ~

I said a prayer for you,
I lifted up your need
I asked our Father . . .
my pleas He would heed.

I prayed for His mercy,
I prayed for His grace
I asked God to help you
with all that you face.

I prayed for deliverance,
I prayed for a soul revival
I asked God to give you
a daily heart renewal.

I prayed for His peace,
I prayed for His clam
I asked God to be your
healing, soothing balm.

I prayed for you today,
I got down on my knees
and I want you to know . . .
God heard my fervent pleas!

Other People’s Problems ~

Sometimes, I’m engulfed,
with other people’s problems
I try so very hard . . .
to help them to resolve them.

I know all they really need,
is for me to hear them out
as we pray for Jesus to take
their worries and their doubt.

Sometimes, all they want,
is a friendly ear to share
the reasons for their fears
and causes for their despair.

I know all they really need,
is for me to empathize
as we try to find God’s peace
for them to internalize.

Sometimes, I’m powerless,
when listening to others needs
and the only way to help them . . .
is to get down on my knees!
