With Jesus I Identify ~

I’ve gone through a transition,
now with Jesus I identity . . .
but, first from the world
I had to detoxify.

The pride living in my heart,
needed to be expelled
so following after its ways
I’d no longer be compelled.

I had to stop imitating,
and approving its behavior
once Jesus became to me
my personal Lord and Savior.

The lusts of the flesh,
and those of the eye
I had to eliminate
so to myself I could die.

All my worldly passions,
needed to be removed
so that by their pleasures
I’d no longer be amused.

I’ve gone through a transition,
now I have a new identity . . .
for I have pledged to Jesus
my devotion and fidelity!

the former conversation
the old man, which is corrupt

And be renewed
in the spirit of your mind;

And that ye put on the new man,
which after God is created
in righteousness and true holiness.

Romans 12:2

but be ye transformed by the renewing
of your mind, that ye may prove what
is that good, and acceptable,
