I have felt grief . . .
smacking me on the shoulder
I have felt it in my gut
hit me like a ten-ton boulder.
I have felt its shock,
just like a lighting bolt
I’ve felt its thunder
deliver stunning jolt.
I have felt grief . . .
punch me square in my face
I’ve felt its torment
my whole body encase.
I have felt its aftershock,
shake up my entire world
I’ve felt its terror quiver
as its pain was unfurled.
But, each time I felt the pain,
brought on only by grief
I went straight to Jesus . . .
to give my heart relief!

unto them that are
of a broken heart;”
