Waters rising,
in over your head
are the stormy seas
filling you with dread?
Fear rising up,
panic setting in
feeling the pressure
building up within?
Skies above menacing,
wind tossing you about
feeling confused
struggling with doubt?
Impatience setting in,
need answers quick
discouragement burning
both ends of the wick?
Feeling like your sinking,
with no end in sight
surrounded by darkness
can’t see His light?
Well, don’t jump ship yet,
though you’re tossed about
just keeping trusting God
to help ride the storm out!

Acts 27:30-31
King James Version
“And as the shipmen were about to flee
out of the ship, when they had let down
the boat into the sea, under colour as
though they would have cast anchors out
of the foreship,Paul said to the centurion
and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the
ship, ye cannot be saved”

I LOVE this one–it covers last week for me, perfectly! My specially fave line is, “discouragement burning both ends of the wick”–that absolutely nails it!! So next time, I’m going to remember that and smile as I agree to not jump ship yet. God bless you BIG–love, sis Caddo (more cheerfully treading water today!)

Yeah, I am not one of those poetry writers that make you have to think too hard. I have read lots of them and end up scratching my head wondering what they heck they were trying to say. I started writing my way when I was very young and then stopped for many years because I was told I forced my words . . . but now a days I just let the Lord give me whatever words He wants me to say and that’s good enough for me! Thank you always for your encouragement. ~ Blessings ~
