When within my soul,
I feel a dark depression
when my faith appears to go
into a deep recession.
I lift my eyes upwards,
to the One who knows
the overpowering extent . . .
of my ills and woes.
From down inside of me,
a place so void and deep
I cry out to the Lord
as before Him I weep.
He reassures me that in,
the depth of my despair
He’ll send healing waters
so my heart He can repair.
When from deep within my soul,
to God my fears I release . . .
He sends billowing waves
of His mercy and peace!

Hi Debby. I’m just checking in. Thank you for the wonderful poem based on Psalm 42.
I just wanted you to know that you, your mom, and your sisters are in my prayers. I remember that your mom broke her hip and I’m praying for healing. I also remember how many times your mom was calling you and I hope she has eased up a bit.
Your Son’s wife, her Christian husband, their child, and your son’s children are in my prayers as well.

Hi Chris, thank you for your prayers. My mom just turned 97 and is still having her issues. My sister is still doing all she can to help. We still talk many times a day! But, I believe we are all playing a role in helping her. My sister physically and me mentally and spiritually. How are you doing? Can’t believe the end of another year is upon us and Jesus hasn’t returned. Maybe I pray next year 🙂

Hi Debby. I’m so glad you got my note. It’s amazing that your mom has made it to 97. I know that you and your sister are a real blessing to her. It is hard to believe that another year has passed and our Lord still hasn’t returned. Maybe this War in Gaza will lead to the building of the Third temple. I have been watching reports about the war daily.
Thank you for your kind words. We are well here in Arkansas. My daughter, Hannah, is still with us praise the Lord. It is rare that a person with FSGS has a kidney last 13 years. Her POTS is also pretty under control. My son is teaching High School English at Arkadelphia High school. He has all of the 9th graders. Kim and I are well.
I pray that all of you are well. May God bless all of you and keep you in His care!

Yes, my eyes too are on what is going on in Gaza. We watch the news about it and then watch the response by those on the streets here and abroad. Perilous times for sure! So thankful to hear Hannah is doing well. Prayers for her continued health. Ninth graders can be a handful hopefully his class isn’t. Good to hear a good report from you Chris. We are doing well just the minor and some major aches and pains of the golden years 🙂 Keep well my friend and may God bless you and yours with health and keep you safe under the shadows of His wings🙏
