Lord, keep my tongue,
from speaking any evil
let me not give it over
for the use of the devil.
Instead let it be used,
to offer praise to You
in all that I say . . .
and in all that I do.
Lord, let me not have,
lips that are loose
so they’ll not become
on others a noose.
Let them not be hurtful,
or cause any pain
let them not be foolish
or be used in vain.
Lord take my tongue
and my lips too . . .
use them both only
to bring glory to You!
~~~~~~~~
Keep thy tongue from evil,
and thy lips from speaking guile.
Blessings Deborah for sharing this poem. Being aware of God’s patience with me, I challenge myself to remain patient when circumstances want me to speak without sharing His grace first.
Yes and Amen! Grace first is a great way to remain quiet.
It’s not only my tongue that needs to be bridled. It’s also this keyboard upon which I’m typing.
