Some people are paralyzed,
with fear and dread . . .
some are just hanging on
by a thin thread.
But, Jesus wants to heal,
our guilt and our shame
just like He did for . . .
the sick and the lame.
Some people are crippled,
by the sins of their past
some are hampered by
their wanderings so vast.
But, Jesus wants to cure,
our spiritual sickness
by offering us the gift
of grace and forgiveness.
Some people are immobilized,
by guilt, shame, fear and dread
but, Jesus wants us to rise up . . .
and have faith in Him instead!
~~~~~~~
I say unto thee,
Arise, and take up thy bed,
and go thy way into thine house.
Hey Debbie! For a while I have been inactive. I had exams keeping me busy. I love love this piece. I’m reminded of a lesson I shared with my Sunday school class. God gives the cure for sin. Romans 6:23 was our memory verse. Your piece captures that lesson.
Glad to see you are back Karen . . . I pray the exams went well! Yes, Jesus makes us clear that we need not stay down for He rose from the grave to give us the power to rise up sin and temptation!
The exams were wonderful. Thank God for the miracle that I got to sit for the exams. School fees was the issue. I’m now learning to walk in the victory purchased for me in Christ Jesus.
RISE UP/RAISE UP!!
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
3 To [b]console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins,
They shall RAISE UP the former desolations…Isaiah 61:1-4
