God gave me this body,
and at first it was intact
but as it grew older
I saw it began to crack.
Once the cracks started,
they could not be stopped
for the more I sinned . . .
out more of them popped.
The cracks started to chip,
piece by piece they fell
and the more I tried to hide them
the more in sin I would dwell.
As they started to fall off,
I began to see the real me
and the more that I sinned
the more damage I could see.
And so I called upon God,
and His awesome power
to fill me with His mercy
so my sins He could scour.
God gave me this body,
to be used as His vessel
and now with His strength
with sin I no longer wrestle.
“But we have this treasure
in jars of clay, to show that
the surpassing power
belongs to God and not to us”

Thank God for the blood of Jesus that cleanses us. God is so faithful to forgive as we confess our sins.
