His stripes,
my forgiven sin
His chastisement
my peace within.
His wounds,
my transgression
His death
my redemption.
His bruising,
my iniquity
His crown
my victory.
His sorrow,
my corruption
His grief
my adoption.
His stripes,
my healing
His Spirit
my sealing!
~~~~~~~
“Surely he hath borne our griefs,
and carried our sorrows:
yet we did esteem him stricken,
smitten of God, and afflicted.
“But he was wounded
for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace
was upon him;
and with his stripes
we are healed.”
It sure does sum it up . . . I just don’t know why more people can’t see just how easy salvation is! ~ I pray Chris that you and yours have a joyful Resurrection Day and that God will continue to bless you my friend in Jesus ~
Oops, I should have read this comment as well as your last. I left a Resurrection Day message for you there but another won’t hurt. I wish you and yours God’s peace during this day when we remember the mercy of our Great God.
Thank you for your kind words.
I don’t understand why many can’t see it either. Sometimes I think many know it but the lifestyle doesn’t appeal to them. Personally, I wouldn’t have it any other way. To live is Christ, to die is gain.
You’ll see my comment about what I think about this poem on my mistakenly placed last comment. I like ’em all but this one is simple and so true. You probably know that I appreciate things like that. 🙂
See, now I should have read this comment before I answered the last as I mentioned the “simpleness” of my faith in my reply 🙂 But, like you it is worth mentioning again!
So thankful, yet so sad Jesus had to die the way He did!
