When I begin my day,
my arms I stretch wide
and pray to the Lord
today please be my guide.
I know it’s for my best,
for me to seek Him first
so after righteousness
until the night I’ll thirst.
As I go about the day,
my hands I stretch open
and I pray to the Lord
with words unspoken.
His Spirit speaks to me,
for He knows I hunger
to finish the race . . .
as a faithful runner.
When from the day I retire,
I stretch my arms out in bed
and pray that tomorrow . . .
I’ll continue to be Spirit led!
~~~~~
I stretch forth my hands
unto thee: my soul thirsteth
after thee, as a thirsty land.
