Our weekly schedules,
our daily timetables
are not with God’s . . .
remotely comparable.
For we rush head on,
into our own projects
that on God’s purposes
we’ve no time to reflect.
We have our routines,
down pat and firm
that on God’s plans
we don’t bother to affirm.
We are so regulated,
so stiff and unbudging
that we can not feel
the Holy Spirit’s nudging.
But, if we’d slow down,
our time we’d redeem
and God’s will for us . . .
will become our regime!
~~~~~~~~
“Redeeming the time,
because the days are evil.
Wherefore be ye not unwise,
but understanding what
the will of the Lord is.”
