Using our Gifts ~

serve-one-anotherused with permission IBibel Verses

Lord, to all you have given,
gifts to which You’ve entrust
so many diverse talents
You have given each of us.

You have endowed us all,
with spiritual abilities
so many of us are blessed
with unique qualities.

You awarded each one,
with their own personality
so together we can be one
regardless of our specialty.

We all have the capability,
but, sadly not the desire
to use our gifts and talents
to enlighten and inspire.

Lord, if we chose to use,
the gifts You’ve given us
just think how many more . . .
in You, would place their trust!

Love this poem, Deborah Ann! I especially like the idea that we all have different gifts but they can be used in harmony to bring one unified message. Many people don’t give credence to the gospel message because they don’t find unity among believers.

This is to our shame. Despite differences in interpretation of some scripture, the gospel of salvation through Jesus should be unified and clear!

Christ is the only path to God’s grace…(John 14:6).

Amen Steve . . . there is only one grace and that is something we can all agree on . . . but, them some still think it is by works . . . our gifts are not our works but the fruit of the Holy Spirit growing in us to serve the Lord and bring Him glory. The church has made a mess out of Christianity, and yes to our shame, no wonder the world shuns us! ~ Blessings ~

I always cringe when someone believes their good works will earn them a place in heaven!

If that were true, we wouldn’t have had to have Jesus suffer the cross for our sins! Works without faith is dead, just as faith alone without works…(James 2:14-26).

I believe we need to change our theology a bit. We as His church must learn how to spread the word with respect, not cram it down people’s throats until they finally swallow!

Take a lesson from the Master…water the seeds and leave Him to give the increase!

        Have a super evening…

So sad but true, my dear! The message of love from the cross is lost on those who pound away on others, believing that “Bible-thumping” drives the message home.

We stand up for the gospel message. We point to the word of God to make a point. But we must do so with respect…(1 Pet. 3:15).

Yes, respect is a good thing and so is a thump or two. I think it is import to get the message across and I am not afraid to through in some fire and brimstone at times too! ~ Blessigns ~

Yes, exactly true! At times, God spoke sternly with people, and even sent physical “judgments” upon peoples and nations trying to get them to repent.

It was necessary in His judgment. I believe we need a “stand up and speak out” moment from time to time as well.

The Lord says in (2 Tim. 3:16)…

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness…”

Get that…”reproof and correction…” That says He expects us to use it to call up short others when and if necessary.

It just has to be done with love and respect. But sometimes that involves “stronger” words and approaches…

Good to have this “talk” with you, Deborah Ann. Have a great day.

Amen . . . I agree Steve with sharing everything our of love and respect for others when sharing our faith and the hope that is in us. My day should be great as I am heading out to 4 hours of soccer games to watch my grandsons play. I told them ther first non-rain,cold, foggy, miserable Saturday I would be there and this is it! ~ Blessings to you and have a wonderful day ~

Aw…the gift of grandchildren! They do wear us out sometimes, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!

I once had a birthday party for myself at Chuck E. Cheese, and had all the kids and grandkids come.

I played the “air guitar” with a couple of them on-stage, and then was pulled off in 7 directions at once for the rest of the night in the arcade!

Anyway, you enjoy the soccer games!

I like your birthday party idea I should do something like that one year. Sound like a great way to celebrate and lets face it as we get older we need all the excitment we can get! ~ Blessings ~

Yep, we do…or at least as much as our pacemakers will handle…(LOL, kidding!) I know I’m almost 62, but I don’t see that in my mirror, nor in my mind.

However, my body tries to remind me sometimes. I fight back, go to the gym, eat right, but the truth is, we do just flat out “get older,” and there’s not anything we can do to stop that clock!

My body may be old but not my mind it is still so eager to learn more about my Lord! ~ Blessings ~

Thank you so much, Deborah Ann. I began reading your posts some time ago and saw they didn’t have a comment section until recently…or not one I can remember.

I always wanted to say how much I thought of your talents and abilities to write such good and Godly thoughts.

I was so happy to see that you opened to comments a while ago and I too have enjoyed our “little chats” here as well.

You are a joy, and I do understand what it’s like to be a “30 year old trapped in a body twice my (real) age!”

Thank you for your comments and may the Lord love and keep you…

What a wonderful thought, Deborah Ann. Yes, it can be lonely to write to people in this way. Many of the people we befriend we will never meet…(unless they are in heaven!)

I am so thankful you counted me in such dear company as Greg and Jim! You take care young lady and enjoy your life!

                      God has plans for you…
