Remain Steadfast ~

When under pressure,
steadfast remain . . .
then from temptation
you will abstain.

Then the crown of life,
you will surely win
for you stood the test
over besetting sin.

When you suffer,
rejoice in your hope
and God will give you
the grace to cope.

Then the character,
God wants in you to see
will be the one . . .
you’re not ashamed to be.

When under pressure,
and you need assurance
ask Jesus to give you . . .
the faith of endurance!

Galatians 5:7

The Race I Entered ~

When the race I entered,
I didn’t know the distance
nor that there would be
so much resistance.

I didn’t think how far,
I would be running
nor how satan after me
would still be coming.

I didn’t think how much,
courage it would take
as I kept aiming
for the narrow gate.

I didn’t think how few,
had the faith to hold fast
nor how many of them
I could actually outlast.

When I entered the race,
I didn’t know it was so long
and it’s only because of Jesus
that I’ve kept going strong!

The Faces of Grace ~

There are many faces,
to God’s grace . . .
and each one of them
we need to embrace.

For everlasting peace,
grace will impart
right into the flesh
of every new heart.

Grace provides training,
we need to consider
for it’s the God’s Truth
and Life transmitter.

For eternal hope,
grace will convey
by showing us the things
that will lead us astray.

There are many sides,
to the face of grace . . .
and we need them all
if we are to win the race!

Teaching us that, denying ungodliness

Need Some Meat ~

Lord I need some meat,
on my spiritual bones . . .
I need to have the muscle
that my faith in You tones.

I need to have willpower,
a winner’s determination
I need the sustenance
of Your fortification.

Lord I need some brawn,
on my spiritual vertebra
I need a spine that won’t
from You breakaway.

I need to have self-control,
courage and fortitude
so that I can have in You
a can and will do attitude.

Lord I need some meat,
some muscle, some grit
on my spiritual bones . . .
so the race I won’t quit!

There’s only one truth,
that I’ve come know
there’s only one way
that I choose to go.

Though there are many,
who don’t think so . . .
I know God’s truth
is the one line to toe.

There’s only one truth,
that I can swallow
there’s only one path
that I will follow.

Through there are many,
roads that I could take
I’ll take the one leading
right to the straight gate.

There’s only one truth,
that I believe in . . .
there’s only one sure way
this faithful race I can win!

I’ve Not The Power ~

In myself,
I haven’t the power
to outrun satan
when he’s out to devour.

So, my spiritual sneakers,
I am putting on . . .
to insure this race
can be victoriously won.

I’ll pull up my laces,
God’s Word will be the knot
so to satan’s snares
off guard, I’ll not be caught.

With my Bible verses,
I’ll plan each of my steps
so I can remain diligent
in following the concepts.

In myself,
I haven’t the power
but, with God’s strength
satan, I will overpower!
