Today I’ll Sing ~

Today I will sing,
no matter what comes . . .
the strings of my heart
I’m still going to strum.
If there are blue skies,
I will kick up my heels
if there be clouds
my joy they wont steal.
Today I am singing,
hallelujah and hooray
regardless of whatever
may come my way.
If there be a storm,
I’ll sing over its roar
if there be calm waters
I will sing louder more.
Lord, today I will sing,
nothing can stop me . . .
I will sing of the love
that I have for Thee!

I will sing and give praise.”

Storms Are Not Meant ~

Storms are not meant,
to blow us over . . .
they come so we may
run to God for cover.
They are not meant,
to take us down . . .
they arise so we may
turn our lives around.
Storms are not meant,
to make us weak . . .
they arrive so we may
learn to God first seek.
They are not meant,
to make us shake . . .
they descend so we can
from apathy awake.
Storms are not meant,
to blow through us . . .
they come so we may
put in God our trust!

No Wonder We Need ~

Life is full of steep hills,
valleys plenty deep
no wonder we need . . .
a Good Shepherd’s keep.
With all the uncertainty,
each day we must face
no wonder we need . . .
a sufficient dose of grace.
Our fears can be many,
our worries limitless
no wonder we need . . .
God’s mercy measureless.
With all the challenges,
we daily go through
no wonder we need . . .
God our hearts to renew.
Life is full of storms,
with winds so unexpected
no wonder we need . . .
to run until perfected!

Grace And Peace To You ~

Grace and peace to you,
my faith filled friends . . .
good health to you too
until this pandemic ends.
May God’s infinite mercy,
keep you safe and secure
so that through this storm
you’ll be able to endure.
Grace and peace to you,
to all faithful in Jesus . . .
may it be His strength . . .
you find in your weakness.
May onto Him you cast,
everything troubling
may He guard your heart
from fear and worrying.
Grace and peace to you,
my friends far and wide . . .
by this virus be not afraid
for God is at your side!

Our One True Foundation ~
Storms come and go,
into our lives every day
some last only for hours
others hunker in to stay.
So we must be prepared,
for whatever may blow
as the timing of a storm
we can never know.
The framework of our faith,
must be strong and steady
for some storms are gentle
while others can be deadly.
We must build our faith,
on the Rock of our Salvation
lest we get knocked off
our One True Foundation.
Storms come and go,
into each of our lives . . .
and we must be ready
for each one that arrives!

that is laid,
which is Jesus Christ.”

God’s Preparing The Way ~
God’s working everyday,
in the believer’s life
every experience
be it victory or strife.
He has a purpose,
behind all He exercises
He warns and corrects us
so our sin will recognize.
God tests where we’ll put,
our faith and trust
so He sends us trials
to see how we’ll adjust.
He has a reason,
for the storms that blow
and He wants to see
where we’ll choose to go.
God is preparing us,
working in us each day
for our future glory . . .
He is purifying the way!

Like An Eagle ~
Renewed like an eagle,
my strength restored
the closer I sweep in
to Jesus, my Lord.
He gives me courage,
to go the distance
gives me His strength
when I meet resistance.
Just like an eagle,
the clouds I climb above
rising over my troubles
on the strength of His love.
I have the fortitude,
to look into the eye
of each raging storm
that passes me by.
He renews my faith,
my trust He restores
until the day like an eagle
into heaven I soar!
~~~~~~~~~
“But they that wait
upon the Lord
shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with
wings as eagles;
they shall run,
and not be weary;
and they shall walk,
and not faint.”
It’s Not About the Storms ~
It’s not about the storms,
we find ourselves in
it’s about if they help us
to find a deeper faith within.
It’s not about the winds,
that blow us around
it’s about if they help us
to keep our minds sound.
It’s not about the rains,
flooding through our life
it’s about if they help us
to give God our daily strife.
It’s not about the tempests,
on us being thrust
it’s about if they help us
in God to rely and trust.
It’s not about the weather,
the wind, rain or tempest
it’s about if they help us
to find God’s peace and rest.
It’s not about the storms,
nor how wind-whipped our boat
it’s about whether we used . . .
our Bibles to help keep us afloat!
God Is Our Shelter ~
God is our shelter,
in the storms of stress
He brings comfort
to us in our duress.
God is our retreat,
in the storms of sorrow
He gives us the joy
to face the morrow.
God is our fortress,
in the storms of fear
He brings peace
by drawing to us near.
God is our high tower,
in the storms of grief
He gives us strength
brings our hearts relief.
God is our shelter,
in all the storms of life
He brings the calm
in the midst of our strife!
Fears Erased ~
When God takes me,
into His warm embrace
I feel overwhelmed
by His love and grace.
For, they soothe my soul,
just like a healing balm
brings to my mind peace
makes my heartbeat calm.
When God takes me,
under His mighty wings
I know I can accept
whatever life brings.
For when I’m protected,
by God’s powerful hand
I know the storms I face
I’ll be able to withstand.
When God takes me,
into His warm embrace
it’s so all my fears . . .
His love can erase!
Grace To The Humble ~
When trials blow,
me to the ground
when my cares
take me down.
Before I rise,
back to my feet
I pray to God
my needs to meet.
When storms blow,
through my door
when my worries
take me to the floor.
Before I get,
my legs back
I pray to God
for the grace I lack.
For, in my life,
to God I’ve found
to humble myself
when I am down!
~~~~~~~~
“But he giveth more grace.
Wherefore he saith,
God resisteth the proud,
but giveth grace
unto the humble.”

If Only I Could Fly ~
Lord, there are days,
I want to get away . . .
to fly up and over
the daily crazy fray.
There are times,
I wish I had wings
to soar high above . .
the storms life brings.
There are moments,
I want to only flee . . .
into perfect peace
to be alone with Thee.
There are periods,
in my hectic life . . .
I wish to escape
from the endless strife.
Lord, there are days,
I want to fly away
and in Your arms . . .
forever rest and stay!

I fly away,

Your Navigation Tool ~
When into your life,
a storm blows in
before it commences
to bring turmoil within.
Open up your Bible,
it will map out for you
how to maneuver
your way through.
When in deep waters,
uncharted, unknown
before the conditions
turn into a cyclone.
Your Bible is the tool,
to help you navigate
all the heavy swells
till the waters abate.
When into your life,
a storm blows through
use the Word of God
to calm and still you!

Singing In The Rain ~
Today, there is a storm
but, I’m still going to sing
no matter how much rain
on my life it may bring.
I will leap and I will jump,
though each and every puddle
for under my Father’s wings
I will securely huddle.
If lightning were to strike,
my Father will protect me
if the thunder comes to roar
under His wings I’ll safely be.
No matter how hard it pours,
or how sizeable the drops
in my Father’s shadow
I will stay until it stops.
Today, on me it’s raining,
but, I am still going to sing
because I know I am safe . . .
under His Almighty wings!

Peace in The Storm ~
Give me peace,
in this storm Lord
give me peace
as I know You can . . .
I need You to calm,
the raging going on
I need You to hold me
till the jolting is gone.
I need You to quiet,
the turbulence within
I need Your strength
to fight the whirlwind.
I need You to still,
the thunder in my soul
I need Your tranquility
to take in me control.
Give me peace,
in this storm Lord
give me peace
as only You can!

nothing can stop me
I will sing my praises
to show my love for Thee!

Sea Worthy ~
Today upon the sea,
I went out for a sail
the day was perfect
as far as I could tell.
The skies were sunny,
the water was clear
giving me no reason
to have me any fear.
There I was floating,
on the sea of tranquility
relaxing in the calm
of the water’s serenity.
The breeze was gentle,
while I drifted about
it gave me no cause
to worry or to doubt.
Then suddenly I saw,
a squall in the distance
and I knew right away
I’d need some assistance.
So, to my loving Savior,
I began to pray . . .
for more faith in the blast
barreling my way.
For, I knew by myself,
I’d face a stormy journey
if Jesus didn’t make me . . .
in Him ~ sea worthy!
~~~~~~~
“And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea,
insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves:
but he was asleep.
And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying,
Lord, save us: we perish
And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful,
O ye of little faith?
Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea;
and there was a great calm.”
The Lull ~
The lulls before the storms,
are so very peaceful
it’s when to God . . .
we seem to be, less needful.
We get so relaxed,
in the calmness of serenity
it’s when to God . . .
we seem to turn, less steadily.
For, in these quiet times,
on the storms we don’t reflect
it’s when to God . . .
we seem, less likely to connect.
We get so comfortable,
it’s like, we haven’t a single care
it’s when to God . . .
we stop coming, to Him in prayer.
The quietness before the storm,
never last for very long . . .
tis why we need God in the lulls
so in the storms, we’ll be strong!
~~~~~~~~~~
Acts 27:13,14,20
“And when the south wind blew softly,
supposing that they had obtained their
purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.
But not long after there arose against it
a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.
And when neither sun nor stars in many
days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us,
all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.”

Getting On My Knees ~
Lord, I can sense a storm,
it’s heading my way . . .
I’m not sure what to do
to keep it at bay.
I can feel the ominous,
of dark clouds forming
soon on me I know . . .
it’ll be steadily pouring.
Lord, I can see it coming,
at any time it’ll be over me
I know I will be needing
to increase my faith in Thee.
I can feel the pressure,
it’s rising overhead
the only way through it
is if, I am Spirit lead.
Lord, I can sense a storm,
coming straight for me . . .
so, before it even gets here
I’m getting on my knees!
~~~~~~~~~~
Psalm 107:28-31
“Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble,
and he bringeth them out of their distresses.
He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves
thereof are still.
Then are they glad because they be quiet;
so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness,
and for his wonderful works to the children of men!”
No Wonder ~
Life is full of storms,
valleys plenty deep
no wonder we need . . .
a Good Shepherd’s keep.
With so much uncertainty,
every day that we face
no wonder we need . . .
a sufficient supply of grace.
Our fears can be numerous,
our worries limitless
no wonder we need . . .
God’s mercy, measureless.
With various challenges,
we daily go through
no wonder we need . . .
God’s strength, each day anew.
So often we’re discouraged,
lost in all the confusion
no wonder we need . . .
the Holy Spirit’s infusion.
Life is full of storms,
winds so unexpected
no wonder we need to keep . . .
our eyes, heavenly directed!
On The Breeze of Serenity ~
Today the weather’s calm,
the skies are blue and clear
the wind is all but absent
I have not me a single fear.
The day looks promising,
the sun will be out to warm
by all present indications
I’ll not encounter a storm.
It’s a day for me to have,
some peaceful tranquility
a day for me to find rest
on the breeze of serenity.
I love days like these,
when everything is still . . .
it’s the perfect time to seek
to find for me, God’s will.
Tomorrow there may come,
a storm straight for me . . .
but, from today’s reflections
it will be Jesus whom I see!
Stormy Weather ~
He makes the clouds form,
causes the winds to blow
sends the thunder clapping
generates a lightning show.
He sends the rain down,
causes torrential floods
sends the rivers flowing
produces a sea of mud.
He forms the snow flakes,
causes a gusting lift
sends the temps dipping
creates a blizzard’s drift.
He gathers up the waves,
causes them to merge
sends the power raging
composes an ocean surge.
No matter what storm,
right now, you may be in
remember this one thing . . .
they’re all controlled by Him!
