Mercy and truth have merged,
redemption found on the cross
righteousness and peace kissed
God’s justice cleanses the dross.
Truth was raised from the earth,
from death came resurrection
eternal life rose from the grave
bringing to God reconciliation.
Love looked down from above,
forgiveness imparted to each soul
hope shall make way for His steps
so in Him all can be made whole.
For those who are beholden,
to the Life, Truth and the Way
will jubilantly celebrate
with Jesus in heaven one day.
Mercy and truth came together,
righteousness and peace have kissed
all who by grace through faith believe
will have glorious, eternal bliss!
~~~~~~~~~
Psalm 85:10-12
“Mercy and truth
are met together;
righteousness and peace
have kissed each other.
Truth shall spring
out of the earth;
and righteousness shall
look down from heaven.”
Lord, I know I don’t deserve,
from You, one single thing
I know I’m not worthy of . . .
the blessings You bring.
I know I don’t merit,
the love You have for me
I know I don’t warrant . . .
from death, to be set free.
I know I’m undeserving,
of the peace that is to come
I know I’m not fit to enter
into Your eternal kingdom.
I know I’m but a sinner,
worthless and contemptible
nothing about me is good
I am pitiful and despicable .
Lord, if not for Your grace,
Your mercy and Your favor
I would be a sinner . . .
without a loving Savior!
I make no excuses,
no false pretense
I am just a sinner
I have no defense.
Born of rebellion,
conceived in sin
envy and spite
were my closest kin.
Dead in trespasses,
deceitful to the core
greed and pride oozed
out of every pore.
Disobedient to God,
just like in Eve’s story
wickedness and evil
stole all of His glory.
I make no excuses,
a sinner I am . . .
but, I’ve been saved by
the blood of the Lamb!
John 1:29
The next day John seeth
Jesus coming unto him,
and saith,
Behold the Lamb of God,
which taketh
away the sin of the world.
blood of Christ,
as of a lamb without blemish
and without spot:
Jesus died for you,
and He died for me
He died for the whole world
so our need for Him, we’d see.
He died for the miserable,
the hardened, the hopeless
He died so that we’d see
without Him, we are helpless.
He died for the cruel,
the wicked, the guilty
He died so that we’d see
without Him, we are filthy.
He died for the sorrowful,
the poor, the meek
He died so that we’d see
without Him, we are weak.
He died for the troubled,
the worried, the weary
He died so that we’d see
without Him, we are needy.
Jesus died for the lost,
and He died for the unsaved
He died so that we’d see
without Him, we are depraved!
in that, while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us.
I cry at night,
when I lay in bed
I pray to my Savior
from verses read.
I cry for the widow,
whose loved one is gone
I pray to my Savior
to Him, she’ll be drawn.
I cry for the homeless,
with nowhere to go
I pray to my Savior
His love will flow.
I cry for the hungry,
with nothing to eat
I pray to my Savior
their needs He’ll meet.
I cry for the sick,
those who are ailing
I pray to my Savior
to heal without delaying.
I cry for the sinner,
who is lost and alone
I pray to my Savior
their life He’ll atone.
I cry for a lost world,
every single night
I pray to my Savior
to shine His light.
I cry for you,
and yes, I cry for me
I pray to my Savior
to hear each plea!
on the Cross ~ Jesus paid the price
righteousness and peace finally kissed
and for all ~ Christ was the sacrifice!
Oh, to know the gift of grace,
not earned by any act or deed
but given to every soul for favor
to fill our deepest want and need.
Oh, to know the gift of grace,
not worthy by any way or means
just filthy rags, covered in scarlet sins
till His blood ~ washed us clean.
Oh, to know the gift of grace,
not deserving to be set free at all
His life became sins only ransom
love’s redemption, for man’s fall.
Oh, to know the gift of grace,
not justified to accept or to receive
Jesus came to give the guilty sinner
the gift of mercy, so they’d believe.
Oh, to know the gift of grace,
where evil no longer rules or reigns
to know His scarred and healing hands
have released sins ~ crippling chains.
Ephesians 2:7-9
King James Version
“That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace
in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved
through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Though I am born again,
I still look the same . . .
the only difference is
I am baptized in His name.
I know I am still a sinner,
but I’m trying hard not to be
and I am sure that my faults
you still can see in me.
I am not yet perfect,
but I am learning every day
how to live like Jesus
and to follow His righteous way.
I know you don’t believe,
but I haven’t a single doubt
and I trust that my Lord
will work all things out.
I’ve got a lot of changing,
that I know I need to do
and I believe that my Savior
will help me see them through.
I’ve made many choices,
that I am not proud of
but I am counting on His mercy
and trusting in His love.
I know when you look at me,
I don’t look any different
but I know somethings new
and in Jesus I am confident.
All I am asking you,
is to give me some more time
before you begin to judge me
and condemn me for my crime.
Though I am born again,
I am not without blame
but the day I accepted Jesus
He took with Him my shame!
