I’m keeping my eyes,
set on Jesus’ coming
tis why this faith race
I keep on running.
For I want to be,
one of the first to see
Jesus in the clouds
coming for me.
I’m keeping my eyes,
watching for the signs
listening to the rumbles
of these the end times.
For I yearn to be,
with my Lord and Savior
and to be with Him
in the land of forever.
On Jesus’ next coming,
I’m keeping my eyes
for He is to me . . .
the real true prize!

Philippians 3:14
I press toward the mark
for the prize of the high
calling of God in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 4:17
Then we which are alive
and remain shall be caught
up together with them
in the clouds, to meet the
Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever
be with the Lord.

Life is full of weeds,
we need to pluck
before in our hearts
they become stuck.
For if we don’t uproot,
their suffocating base
we won’t be able to run
or win the faithful race.
Weeds are full of life,
needing to be obliterated
lest our faith in God
will become manipulated.
For if we do not rid,
their strangling hold on us
satan will pulverize
all our hope and trust.
Life is full of weeds,
weeds are full of life . . .
we must eradicate them
or face eternal strife!

Matthew 13:26-30
But when the blade was sprung up,
and brought forth fruit, then appeared
the tares also . . . .
Matthew 13:38-39
The field is the world;
the good seed are the
children of the kingdom;
but the tares are the
children of the wicked one;
The enemy that sowed them
is the devil; the harvest
is the end of the world;
and the reapers are the angel.

Some say my faith,
has made me blind
some say it too . . .
messed up my mind.
But, I say my faith,
opened up my eyes
for it has made me . . .
to God’s ways wise.
Some say my faith,
is a laughable joke
some add to it too . . .
it’s a fearsome yoke.
But, I say my faith,
is as real as can be
for from the world . . .
it has set me free.
Some say my faith,
makes me a moron
but, I say my faith . . .
keeps me pressing on.
For Lord I know,
You are the only One
who I need to follow
if this race is to be won!
~~~~~~~~
Philippians 3:13-14
Brethren, I count not myself
to have apprehended: but this
one thing I do, forgetting those
things which are behind,
and reaching forth unto those
things which are before,
I press toward the mark
for the prize of the high
calling of God in Christ Jesus.
When you put Jesus,
first on your list
there He will be
right in the midst.
For when you meet,
with Jesus each day
He will by your side
unfailingly stay.
When you make Jesus,
your top priority
His Word you will keep
with all authority.
For when Jesus is taken,
more seriously
the more you will train
for the race rigorously.
When you trust Jesus,
fully and completely
you will go to Him
each day more routinely!
Matthew 6:33
“But seek ye first
the kingdom of God,
and his righteousness;
and all these things
shall be added unto you.”
John 14:23
If a man love me, he will keep my
words: and my Father will love him,
and we will come unto him,
and make our abode with him.”
Lord, You gave me a crown,
of Your glory and honor
to wear on my head
while here on earth I labor.
But, often it slips,
right over my eyes
and I come up short
going for the prize.
As I push it back,
to it is proper place
I dash right back out
to keep going in the race.
But, sometimes I feel,
it only shows me down
and I question if it is
for me the right crown.
Child, I have given you,
My crown of glory to wear
but, keeping it on . . .
is not yours alone to bear.
If you want your crown,
to stay in its correct place
it needs to be secured . . .
by My mercy, love and grace!
Psalm 8:4-6
“What is man, that thou art mindful of him?
and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
For thou hast made him a little lower than
the angels, and hast crowned him with
glory and honour.
Thou madest him to have dominion
over the works of thy hands; thou
hast put all things under his feet:”
When you seek to please,
God in all you do
nothing people say
will phase or daze you.
You will walk upright,
in a worthy manner
you will become known
as that faithful runner.
You won’t pay attention,
to what people may think
to their cruel ridicule
you won’t even blink.
You will stand up tall,
to evil you’ll not cower
for you know you’re filled
with God’s almighty power
When you seek to please,
God first in your life . . .
what others say or do
won’t cause you any strife!
We all need endurance,
to run the faithful race
we all need the strength
found in God’s grace.
We all need encouragement,
to keep our goal in sight
we all need the power
of the Holy Spirit’s might.
We all need perseverance,
to help us to keep pressing
we all need more joy
to keep us from stressing.
We all need patience,
in these trying of times
we all need godly virtue’s
so not to cross the fine lines.
We all need a pep talk,
as the faithful race we run
we all need to hear each day
it is our’s to be won!
If we are to have hope,
in what we can’t see
why is it then Lord . . .
we don’t trust more in Thee?
If we are to have patience,
while for Your return we await
why is it then Lord . . .
we don’t keep to the straight gate?
If we are to have faith,
that Your Kingdom is coming
why is it then Lord . . .
we don’t keep faithfully running?
If we are to have perseverance,
even though You may tarry
why is it then Lord . . .
we don’t our own cross carry?
If we are to have hope,
if we are to trust and believe
why is it then Lord . . .
we don’t keep our eyes on Thee?
Today I’m decluttering,
my heart and my mind
dumping all the things
I keep dragging behind.
I’ll be getting rid of,
any bitterness I see
and if there be envy
I’ll purge it right out of me.
I’ll toss away the guilt,
dispose of the shame
free any need to point
to others any blame.
I’ll remove all the fear,
eradicate any doubt
eliminate the dread
so to block anxiety out.
Today, I’m decluttering,
so I can stay on track
I’ll destroy the dead weight
that’s been holding me back!
Hebrews 12:1
compassed about with so great
a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight,
and the sin which doth so
easily beset us, and let us
run with patience the race
that is set before us,”
Who hindered you,
who got you off the path
who brought you closer
to knowing God’s wrath?
Who stopped you,
who made your heart sway
who lead you from
the straight, narrow way?
Who approached you,
who got you off track
who caused you to turn
on God your very back?
Who made you to stumble,
who caused you to waiver
who persuaded you to think
you don’t need a Savior?
Who was it that wanted you,
out of the faithful race
who said you don’t deserve
God’s mercy, love and grace?
Who is that cleaver,
who is that spiteful . . .
none other but Satan
could be so deceitful!
Faith isn’t passive,
it’s active and moving
it’s something each day
we must be using.
Faith isn’t shy,
it’s bold and fearless
with it we mustn’t be
reckless or careless.
Faith is an act,
it has no cannot’s
all things are possible
is faith’s only thoughts.
Faith is a movement,
driving us from within
with the Holy Spirit
as our spiritual linchpin.
Faith starts as a walk,
progressing into a run
it doesn’t give up . . .
till the faithful race is won!
