Give Me Patience Lord ~

Give me patience Lord,
to go the distance
be there for me
when I need assistance.
Help me to be strong,
steady and consistent
so that my trust in You
can be firmly persistent.
Give me endurance Lord,
to go the full length
be there for me . . .
when I need more strength.
Help me to be for You,
a willing able soul
so that my life You can
have complete control.
Give me patience Lord,
and endurance too
be there for me until . . .
the day I’m with You!
~~~~~~~~
But if we hope for
that we see not,
then do we with
patience wait for it.
For whatsoever things were
written aforetime were written
for our learning, that we through
patience and comfort of the
scriptures might have hope.
Entering Into The Faithful Race ~
I’m putting on my sneakers
entering in the faithful race
so I’m cushioning my soul . . .
with God’s sufficient grace.
The contest that’s before me,
seems a million-miles long
but I will trust in Jesus . . .
to help me finish strong.
With Him running with me,
I’ll focus in on winning
the confidence He’ll provide
will keep me from sinning.
I’ll have a sense of purpose,
hope will be in my stride
I’ll stay true to the course
knowing He is at my side.
I’ll run with Jesus’ strength,
He’ll provide the assurance . . .
the crown of life will be my prize
for He’ll give me the endurance!
which run in a race run all,
but one receiveth the prize?
So run, that ye may obtain.”
Hamster Wheel Faith ~
Some Christian’s faith,
is like a hamster wheel . . .
and the faster they go
the more their faith reels.
They never stop spinning,
around and around . . .
for their faith isn’t rooted
on the firm, solid ground.
Some Christians don’t see,
their in a spiritual rut
or notice by sin . . .
their still firmly stuck.
The same old things,
they just keep on doing
to their old worldly ways
they keep on pursuing.
Some Christian’s faith,
is like a hamster wheel
for running the good race
causes them to squeal!
~~~~~~~~~
Wherefore seeing we also are
compassed about with so great
a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight,
and the sin which doth so easily
beset us, and let us run with
patience the race that is
set before us,

God, My Strength ~
God, my Strength,
my Power, my Might
You make me fit . . .
for the battles I fight.
Through all the storms,
that have come my way
You give me the courage
to face them each day.
God, my Muscle,
my Vitality, my Vigor
You inspire me to be
for You a crown winner.
When spiritual battles,
I have to daily face
You give me resilience
to run the faithful race.
God, my Strength,
my Rock, my Song
thought I am weak . . .
You make me strong!
~~~~~~~~~~
Have not I commanded thee?
Be strong and of a good courage;
be not afraid, neither be thou
dismayed: for the Lord thy God
is with thee whithersoever
thou goest.
And he said unto me,
My grace is sufficient for thee:
for my strength is made perfect
in weakness. Most gladly therefore
will I rather glory in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ
may rest upon me.
If Only ~
If we’re to have a bright future,
we must willingly follow God’s plans
if we’re going to walk in faith
we must put our trust in His hands.
If we’re not to be weary,
we must give God our distress
if we’re to find rest for our souls
we must be willing to onward press.
If we’re to have strength and power,
we must first admit we are weak
if we’re to soar like eagles
we must learn to be humble and meek.
If we’re trying to find real peace,
we mustn’t give in to fear or doubt
if we’re wanting to see God’s light
we must shut all the darkness out.
If we’re to have true victory,
we must run the race so we can win
if we’re to receive our reward
we must repent from our every sin!
