Jesus Is Our Helper ~

Jesus is our Helper,
from beginning to end
He’s been our Counselor
our trusted eternal Friend.

He is our Intercessor,
the link in our prayer chain
who helps when our words
we reach for and strain.

Jesus is our Advocate,
as our pleas to Him we aim
to God our litigator
when we call on His name.

He is our Strength,
who will never disappoint
in Him we have victory
through His vantage point.

Jesus is our Refuge,
the partner in our prayer
our present Helper
who will our burdens bear!

God Is Always Present ~

Some people say,
God is so far away . . .
some think He doesn’t
hear them when they pray.

Some people believe,
God is always present
some think He listens
to their every lament.

Some people rely,
only on their feelings
some think God’s not fair
with them in His dealings.

Some people depend,
on their faith and trust
some think God’s always
good, fair and just.

Some people say,
Jesus is so distant
some know He is . . .
always consistent!

More Grace From His Throne ~

Are your troubles,
getting out of hand
not sure how much more
you’ll be able to stand?

Well God doesn’t want you,
to go it alone . . .
for He knows you’ll need
more grace from His throne.

Are your worries,
getting out of control
are they weighing down
the joy in your soul?

Well God doesn’t want you,
to go by just sight
for He knows faith needs
the path of His light.

Are you problems,
just too much too bear . . .
well remember Jesus said
to cast on Him your care!

Through All Of Life’s Challenges~

Through all of life’s challenges,
times of means and of lean
on my Lord and Savior . . .
I have continued to lean.

For He has not forsaken,
nor left me on my own
He has always given me
access to His holy throne.

Through all of life’s trials,
when I called out His name
to my defense and rescue
He always faithfully came.

In His mighty hand He kept,
me safe from the fiery tests
always having for me
His good and honest best.

Through life’s many troubles,
on my Lord and Savior I’ve clung
trusting Him for all things . . .
no matter what life at me flung!

Everyday Can Be A Struggle ~

Everyday can be a struggle,
when from God’s Word we stray
every hour is more miserable
when we don’t trust and  pray.

Everything will look impossible,
when His hope is not there
every problem looks bleaker
when we don’t believe He cares.

Every worry seems unbearable,
when His mercy we don’t claim
every care is more insufferable
when we don’t call upon His name.

Every mountain seems higher,
when we climb it all alone
every valley is a little deeper
when we wander off on our own.

Everyone who goes about,
doing whatever it is they will . . .
will never know the kind of peace
that only God can instill!

God, My Refuge ~

God is my refuge,
a retreat for my soul
where life’s pressures
cannot take their toll.

His wings protect me,
a shelter they provide
whenever I am weary
a perfect place to hide.

God is my refuge,
a harbor to where I flee
whenever I’m tossed
upon life’s stormy sea.

When I need strength,
for the troubles I get in
I just turn to the Lord
my refuge from within.

a stronghold He is to me
an always present help . . .
I’ve found Him to be!

When In Need Of Protection ~

When I need protection,
from the world outside
I go to the One . . .
who in my heart abides.

Jesus is my security,
He is my Strength and Shield
He’s the only One to whom
my life, I’m willing to yield.

When I am afraid,
when I need a hiding place
I go to the One . . .
who has sufficient grace.

Jesus is my Stronghold,
He is my Rock and Defender
He is the only One to whom
my fears I will surrender.

When I need a shielding,
when I need protecting
I go to my Savior . . .
for Refuge and sheltering!

A Perfect Getaway ~

In times of trouble,
we need a hideaway
a place we can go . . .
just to get away.

We need a retreat,
a place to de-stress
we need a refuge
so we can decompress.

In times of troubles,
we need a resort
a place where we can find
some Godly support.

We need a haven,
a shelter of protection
we need a sanctuary
a place for reflection.

In times of trouble,
we need a getaway
and God provides . . .
the perfect hideaway!

Finding Peace ~

Today I took a sail,
on a quiet, restful sea
and soon tranquility
took a hold of me.

As I gently rocked,
I became aware
this is how it will be
when I haven’t me a care.

I laid back my head,
my face was to the sun
thinking what it’ll be like
when worry, I have none.

I closed my eyes tightly,
envisioning perfect bliss
and thought to myself
this world I’ll not miss.

Today I took a sail,
if only in my mind . . .
but God showed me His peace
is right here ~ for me to find!

God is Ever Present ~

God is ever-present,
His help is always near
that is why I never have
anything to dread or fear.

He promises to support me,
with His righteous hand
I know it’s by His power
I have the strength to stand.

God is always with me,
no matter what I do
whenever I’m distressed
His remedies I pursue.

I am not distraught,
if troubles come my way
for God will direct me
as I go about my day.

God is ever-present,
I haven’t anything to fear
for He has vowed to me
to remain close and near!

God is My Refuge ~

God is my refuge,

where life and its pressures
cannot take their toll.

His wings watch over me,
a shelter they provide
whenever I am weary

I will not be harmed
for, He has me encased
in His everlasting arms.
