God brought into my life,
pain unimaginable
heartache so deep
it was unfathomable.
But, through it I found,
the meaning of steadfast
and onto my joy
I’ve learned to holdfast.
God brought into my life,
sorrow unthinkable
suffering so vast
it was unmeasurable
But, though it I discovered,
the surpassing of peace
and now I understand
why it will never cease.
God brought into my life,
pain unbearable
and now my faith in Him . . .
is indestructible!

I cling no longer,
on the edge of loss
for I’ve placed my sorrow
up on the cross.
I sit no longer,
on the edge of despair
for I stand on knowing
God hears my prayer.
I hold no longer,
on the edge of grief
I’m free in knowing
God’s love spells relief.
I hang no longer,
on the edge of fear
I’m fixed on knowing
God is always near.
Though my pain,
at times is hard to take
I know good things
out of it God will make!

I should have been crushed,
by the weight of sorrow
I should have not been able
to face another tomorrow.
I should have been shattered,
from a heart that was broken
I should have collapsed
under words left unspoken.
I should have been held down,
by the heaviness of pain
I should have not been able
any strength to obtain.
I should have been destroyed,
by the bitterness of grief
I should have not been able
to find any peace or relief.
But, God gave me hope,
and my heart filled with grace
tis the only reason today . .
you’ll see a smile on my face!

A new song,
God’s put in my heart
of how His mercy
came to do its part.
He took my sorrow,
turned it into hope
gave me the grace
each day to cope.
A new song,
I’m going to sing
so others to Him . . .
my grief might bring.
He’s given to me,
a brand new melody
and for my heartache
joy is now its remedy.
A new song,
God’s given to me
thru grief I’ve a glimpse
of eternal glee!

When my grief,
takes a hold of me
when blinded by
all the tears I see.
That’s when I call,
on God’s grace
to shine His glory
on my weeping face.
When my pain,
makes me writhe
and I find it
so hard to breathe.
That’s when I call,
on God’s mercy
to keep my faith
in Him sturdy.
When my grief,
starts to surface
I know for my pain
God has a purpose!

My faith has sustained me,
through life’s’ ups and downs
it has been with me . . .
through laughter and frowns.
My faith has carried me,
through tragedy and grief
it has provided me . . .
with strength and relief.
My faith has helped me,
though periods of drought
it has saved me . . .
from my fear and doubt.
My faith has kept me,
through stormy conditions
it has supported me . . .
with prayer and petitions.
My faith has taken me,
through days of not knowing
it has stabilized me . . .
as harsh winds came blowing.
My faith has sustained me,
through life’s highs and lows
it has taught me to trust . . .
in the One who knows!

Through the eyes of grief,
I’ve seen the effects of pain
I’ve watched others fall apart
from under its heavy strain.
I’ve witnessed for myself,
the heartbreak of tragedy
I’ve experienced the depth
of its excruciating agony.
Through the eyes of grief,
I’ve seen sorrow’s anguish
I’ve watched mine dissipate
I’ve also seen it languish.
I’ve seen what sorrow does,
in the lives of those grieving
how some turn from God
while others keep believing.
Though the eyes of grief,
I’ve seen what God can do
for I am an eyewitness . . .
of what grief can do to you.
So, if your heart is broken,
under the weight of grief
may you know God is waiting
to bring you peace and relief!

Some days I wake up,
with tears in my eyes
and to the Lord . . .
my broken heart cries.
Lord, You understand,
the way that I feel
and I know my pain . . .
only You can truly heal.
Some days I wake up,
with tears falling
and to the Lord . . .
I just start bawling.
Lord, You understand,
the reason for my grief
and I know my pain. . .
only You can bring relief.
Some days I wake up,
with hope in my eyes
and I give to the Lord . . .
my pain ~ before I rise!

Sometimes I don’t get,
why I’ve so much pain
or why in my life . . .
there’s so much rain.
Showers of sorrow,
fall on me each day
making it oh, so hard
to go about my way.
Often I am caught,
in a downpour of grief
and all I want to have . . .
is eternity’s relief.
Heavy precipitation,
drops from my eyes
as I pray to my Father
to hear my broken cries.
Please Oh Lord remove,
the clouds that I see
so that Your mercy . . .
can rain down on me!

Some days Lord,
sadness wakes up with me
no matter what I do . . .
it just won’t let me be.
Some days grief,
takes its choking hold
I feel my knees buckle . . .
as they begin to fold.
Some days sorrow,
follows me all around
like a heap, all I want . . .
is to fall to the ground.
Some days pain,
grips my heart like a vise
making me feel as if . . .
my veins are filled with ice.
Every day Lord,
in which I suffer and grieve
I think about the joy . . .
one day, I’m going to receive!

A broken heart,
a soul that shatters
needs the One
who really matters.
Though time cures,
the hurting heart
Jesus will heal . . .
the broken part
Life is unkind,
can be so unfair
and we need Jesus
our pain to bear.
Human affection,
can be so cruel
but to Jesus we are
a precious jewel.
Jesus loves,
the broken heart
from the hurting one
He’ll never part!
