Let’s Make Room For Jesus ~

Every year for Christmas,
we prepare for our guests
making sure they only see
our homes at their best.

We scrub and we scour,
room by room we go
making sure every space
has a sparkling glow.

We remove the clutter,
tidy up all of the mess
we dust everything in hopes
to pass the white glove test.

But, what about our hearts,
for Jesus, are they prepared
or in the holiday madness
have they become ensnared?

So, this year let’s first check,
to see if we have room
in our hearts for Jesus
and if not, let’s take a broom.

Let’s sweep away the junk,
clear out a perfect space
so Jesus can fill it up
with His love and grace.

Then let’s open up our homes,
and invite our guests in . . .
and maybe what they see in us
they too, will want within!

Tunneling Through ~

When up to your ears,
with problems and fear
before they swallow you up
ask God to draw you near.

Ask Him to give you,
the courage you need
so from fear’s sinkhole
you can be freed.

When life gets too hard,
to make your way though
before you start to panic
ask God what you should do.

He’ll give you the strength,
to burrow your way out
and keep you from getting
buried in fear and doubt.

When worry buries you,
up to your ears . . .
let Jesus help you tunnel
through all your fears!

For Our Own Good ~

God is at work in us,
He knows what’s good
He knows whether
we’ll do as we should.

He is in control,

we’ll follow His light.

For our own good,

each day for our life

My Arrow Deflector ~

The Lord is my shield,
my true protector
He is my only

to fight any attack

Rise Up Again ~

Whenever you fall,
you must rise up again
no matter the struggle
or the amount of pain.

Lest Satan our enemy,

The Tablet of My Heart ~

 Upon the tablet of my heart,
the Word of God I etch
for I know without His grace
I’d be a miserable wretch.

His Word reveals to me,
Light in its purest form
it exposes all my sin
the wickedness I perform.

In God’s Word I can find,
the true meaning of life
how to avoid being filled
with anxiety and strife.

His Word imparts wisdom,
it gives me understanding
it helps me from being . . .
to this world conforming.

On the tablet of my heart,
into my soul, I’ve engraved
God’s Word, grace and mercy
to remind me why it is I’m saved.

Is that You Lord,
is that You calling out to me

that I’m beginning to see?

I’m hearing in the shadows

My Sun and Shield ~

Lord, You promised to be,
my sun and shield . . .
so, unto Your authority

My Light ~

Lord, give me a warm heart,
a spirit that is bright . . .
let me look at everything
through Your amazing light.

even when there is rain

Sticky Note to God 01.07.15

The Greatest Gift of All ~

The greatest gift of all . . .
isn’t found under the tree
nor wrapped in pretty paper
ribbons on it you won’t see.

It’s not very beautiful,
in fact, it’s even uncomely
it’s not deck-out or decorated
it’s actually rather homely.

It’s not seen on the mantle,
or inside an adorned stocking
in truth, it’s outward appearance
might even be to you shocking.

It’s not something you can buy,
or something you can give away
it’s not something people desire
most won’t give it the time of day.

The greatest gift of all,
is Jesus plain and clear
He is the Savior of the world
changing lives is His career.

Once you give your heart to Him,
His light will make you  glow
and the closer you get to Jesus . . .
His inner beauty you’ll come to know!

The True Light ~

The true light of the season,
isn’t wrapped around our trees
the true light of the season
isn’t hanging from our eaves.

The true light of the season,
isn’t put up, only once a year
the true light of the season
isn’t part of our Christmas gear.

The true light of the season,
never burns out or blows a fuse
the true light of the season
isn’t part of the holiday ruse.

The true light of the season,
cannot be put away or stored
for, the true light of the season
is the Babe, the Christ, our Lord.

Jesus, is the world’s light,
all darkness, He came to diffuse
and love, hope, peace and joy
in your life He wants to infuse!

Share the gift of eternal joy,
let it rise out of you each day
let the happiness you feel
leave its mark, along your way.

Tell everyone about Jesus,
the cheerfulness that He brings
let them know, He’s the reason
why your heart, this season sings.

Show your joyfulness,
raise your hands, sing your praise
let people see it is Jesus
who has you feeling so amazed.

Let your joy be seen by all,
for the glory of your salvation
let them see the birth of Jesus
is the cause for your elation.

Share the gift of eternal joy,
everyday throughout the year
let the world see your blissfulness
is more than holiday cheer!

What Christmas Isn’t ~

Tis the season
to be jolly . . . .
but don’t get caught
in all the folly.

For, it’s not about,
jingle bells
or dashing off
to all the sales

It’s not about,
the office party
or if to Aunt Sally’s
we’ll be tardy.

It’s not about,
the food we buy
or if we’ll make
pecan or rhubarb pie.

It’s not about,
all the lights
or if Uncle Joe
will start a fight.

It’s not about,
Santa or his sleigh
or how much this year
he will weigh.

It’s not about,
the presents we get
or the gifts we buy
putting us into debt.

It’s about Jesus,
the virgin Babe born

shinning from afar

The One True Light ~

Sometimes it’s impossible,
to keep the lights on inside
when there’s so much darkness
lurking on the outside.

Sometimes the truth,
doesn’t shine so very bright
when there’s so much gloom
that clouds up the sight.

Sometimes in the shadows,
the way seems to disappear
when there’s so much dread
lurking close and near.

But, the One True Light,
is always on ~ inside of us
when there’s so much doubt
in Jesus we can always trust!

Exposed ~

In God’s light,
all things become clear
for it exposes the darkness
the things we should all fear.

It divulges the lies,
the secrets we hold onto
in the shadows it illuminates
the evil things we are into.

In God’s light,
sin cannot be concealed
for our every hidden thought
will be bared and revealed.

It separates the bad,
from what is honest and just
the day Light entered the world
it exposed the wickedness in us.

In God’s eternal light,
Jesus came to heal . . .
the darkness in our hearts
so His love  ~ He could reveal!

I’m Looking Up ~

I’m looking up,
morning, noon and night
I’m keeping my eyes on Jesus
looking straight into His light.

I’m not going to look within,
I’ll just be disappointed

Beyond This Side Of The Cross ~

Beyond the cross,
is a glorious view
for in Jesus’ death
all things are new.

New beginnings,
fresh clean starts
eternal hope
to fill our hearts.

the truth we find
the love of God
for all mankind.

exposes sin

Crying out to God ~

Sometimes, I cry out to God,
when being pushed to my limit
I pray asking Him to bring me
the full strength of His Spirit.

Whenever I am frighten,
when I’m knee-deep in my fears
I cry out for His light to shine
till the darkness disappears.

When my troubles hang on,
when they won’t let go of me
I cry out for His mighty power
so I can make Satan flee.

When illness comes my way,
when the pain keeps on growing
I cry out for His healing touch
in my life to keep flowing.

When sad and depressed,
when I become withdrawn
I cry out for His help
to keep on, pressing on.

is so natural to do . . .
for when it becomes a habit
prayer becomes a part of you!

Rescued ~

He came with a tender heart,
extended a loving hand
from my own misery
He helped me up to stand.

how my life lacked direction
He knew in the darkness
I couldn’t see the separation.
