Sometimes I do,
what I shouldn’t do
for I know it’s not . . .
what Jesus would do.
Sometimes I act,
how I shouldn’t act
for I know it’s not . . .
how Jesus would act.
Sometimes I say
what I shouldn’t say
for I know it’s not . . .
what Jesus would say.
Sometimes I behave,
how I shouldn’t behave
for I know it’s not . . .
how Jesus would behave.
Sometimes I struggle,
Jesus to be like You . . .
and I hate saying and doing
what You wouldn’t say or do!

Romans 7:15
For that which I do I allow not:
for what I would, that do I not;
but what I hate, that do I.

An open heart,
Jesus can remake
for in His riches
it will partake.
It excepts His love,
His mercy and grace
for an open heart
His life can embrace.
An open mind,
wholeness will receive
for it no longer
His Spirit grieves.
It desires godly wisdom,
it seeks holy living
its thoughts are now full
of hope and thanksgiving.
An open heart,
takes a willing spirit too
so Jesus its mind . . .
can restore and renew!

The older I get,
I find myself being
much more agreeable
and less disagreeing.
As the years add up,
I’m much more thankful
the words from my lips
are a lot more fruitful.
The grayer my hair is,
I find myself more wiser
the thinner its gotten
I’m more like an adviser.
As the clock ticks down,
I am a lot less whiny . . .
as my last days approach
I am more Son shiny.
The older I’m getting,
the more I can see . .
the work Jesus has
remaining for me!

Living by grace,
isn’t a license to sin
instead it’s a purging
of the old man within.
It’s life changing,
altering and evolving
each day our hearts
need to be transforming.
Saved by grace,
isn’t a pass to sinfulness
instead it’s a path
to Godly righteousness.
It’s a call to holiness,
a life of victory
it’s having the power
over Satan’s trickery.
Living by grace,
isn’t a pass or license
to keep on sinning . . .
is abiding in defiance!

Lord, help me to sow,
good seeds everyday
seeds of faith and trust
as I travel life’s pathway.
Help me to walk upright,
on the narrow road
keep me from following
after that which will corrode.
Lord, help me to sow,
seeds of love and grace
so the things of this world
my heart won’t embrace.
Help me to be wise,
keep my path holy
so that I will not join
others in their folly.
Lord, Help me to see,
there are no shortcuts
for with You there are no
if’s, and’s or but’s!

I love my quiet times,
when I am all alone
I love that I am led
right to God’s throne.
It’s there that I feel,
my raw humbleness
as I am surrounded
by His full holiness.
My pride is striped away,
right out from under me
who I am to even think
His glory I should see.
I bow my head in silence,
no words can express . . .
how these quiet times
on me, God does impress.
To my self-complacency,
I do become aware . . .
so much so, that to Him
my undying love I declare.
I love my quiet times,
when God leads and takes me
straight down to my knees . . .
when alone with Him, I be!

May the true grace of God,
change you from within
may it set you free . . .
from the bondage of sin.
May the true grace of God,
you put on today
may from worldly lusts
you turn and walk away.
May the true grace of God,
bring about new life
may with temptation
you no longer have strife.
May the true grace of God,
lead you to holiness
may to Calvary’s cross
you come with lowliness.
May the true grace of God,
be not taken in vain
may in your heart and soul
Jesus live and reign!

I want to walk with God,
through the glens and dells
up and down the hills
through the valley’s swells.
I want to place each step,
in the truest of directions
I want my walk to have
the holiest of intentions.
I want to hold His hand,
as I climb the mountain top
I want Him to tell me . . .
when to go, when to stop.
I want to do God justice,
doing what He requires
I want to make Him proud
of my wants and desires.
I want to walk humbly,
so I don’t trip on my pride
I want God’s grace in my steps
His mercy in my stride!

God forbid, I accept His grace,
then continue in my sin
shall I not let the old man die
so He can have victory within?
Is not holiness or godliness,
a thought not just to entertain
but one that I must put on
if in Christ, I am to remain?
Is grace so freeing,
that God’s Word plays no part
or shall it be every temptation
still takes hold of my heart?
Am I not to cast off the rags,
of my unrighteousness
or do I still hold onto the filth
the fallen state of my wickedness?
God forbid, I accept His grace,
asking Him for more and more
God forbid, I continue in my sin
and expect to enter heaven’s door!

When you live in the Spirit,
you’ll turn away from sin
you’ll pursue after holiness
with the power of Him within.
You’ll produce much fruit,
throughout the day
when you live in the Spirit
joy will lead the way.
When you live in the Spirit,
love will be in your stride
and the peace God gives
you won’t be able to hide.
You’ll be patient and kind,
you’ll learn how to be meek
the Truth, Life and Way
you will earnestly seek.
When you live in the Spirit
Jesus’ heart you’ll embrace
you’ll understand the meaning
of having faith through grace!

The splendor of God’s holiness,
can be heard in everything
from the rush of the ocean
to the gentle babbling spring.
His glory and His strength,
ride high across the sky
through the mighty thunder
you can hear His triumph cry.
The majestic voice of God,
strikes with a flash of light
fervently it shakes the earth
with the power of His might.
His words can twist and strip,
the heart of man away from sin
till in the depth of His love
they come to trust in only Him.
The voice of God is splendid,
to His people from their King
His strength is in the ocean’s rush
our peace is in the gentle spring.

A feeling of quiet peace,
a restfulness deep inside
the presence of such calm
is when God is at my side.
Around me, there’s a storm,
that resembles a rumbling sea
yet, that feeling of tranquility
still flourishes inside me.
A feeling of quiet peace,
a serenity that flows about
the presence of His holiness
I can feel it surge throughout.
While the sea may be stormy,
as it rages through my mind
my heart is calmly reassured
His quietness is mine to find.
A feeling of quiet peace,
a calmness that far exceeds
all my wishes and desires
for, God surpasses all my needs.

Make perfection your goal,
make it your heart’s desire
do all that you know
our heavenly Father requires.
Be faithful and true,
press towards holiness
let His grace show you
how to live with lowliness.
Be followers of God,
for you are His dear child
submit to all of His ways
being truly humble and mild.
Be imitators of your Father,
show compassion and love
even to those who hate you
let your peace be like a dove.
Be perfect,
strive and make this your goal
seek and you shall find
His perfection for your soul.

which is in heaven is perfect.”
