If our right eye offends,
then why do we keep looking
if it’s not to desire things of the world
then why are they still so alluring?
If our right eye offends,
then why do we look with the left one
if it’s not to regard the lusts of the world
then why is it not focusing on the Son?
If the right eye offends,
then why do we seek what’s morally wrong
if it’s not to be conformed to the world
then why after it do we still long?
If our right eye offends,
then why do we not look the other way
if it’s not to seek the world’s riches
then why to them do we still sway?
If our right eye offends,
then why does it roam all about
if it sees things so alluring and deceitful . . .
then why don’t we just pluck it out!

Mark 4:19
“And the cares of this world,
and the deceitfulness of riches,
and the lusts of other things
entering in, choke the word,
and it becometh unfruitful.
Matthew 5:29
“And if thy right eye offend thee,
pluck it out, and cast it from thee:
for it is profitable for thee that
one of thy members should perish,
and not that thy whole body should
be cast into hell.”

I will overcome,
I’ll have victory . . .
I will not be taken in
by satan’s trickery.
To the devil’s traps,
I will not go into
to his every lie
I will not pursue.
To temptation,
I will not fall
to false religion
I’ll not heed its call.
To worldly wealth,
I’ll not concede
to its evil ways
I will not proceed.
To lustful pleasure,
I will not give in
to vain ambition
I’ll not be driven.
To hollow friendships,
I’ll not be charmed
to immoral living
I’ll not be warmed.
I will have victory,
I will overcome . . .
to the world’s darkness
I will not succumb!

is the victory that overcometh
the world, even our faith.”

In a world,
spinning out of control
I am so glad I gave
Jesus, my heart and soul.
In a world,
filled with so much confusion
I am so very happy
I’ve the Holy Spirit’s infusion.
In a world,
full of panic and chaos
I’m so blessed to have
God, as my peaceful oasis.
In a world,
that is lustful and greedy
I’m so thankful I can bank on
God’s favor, grace and mercy.
In a world,
that will meet a fiery end
I’m so grateful . . .
Jesus, is my eternal Friend!

Revelation 20:7-9
“And when the thousand years are expired,
Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
And shall go out to deceive the nations
which are in the four quarters of the earth,
Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle:
the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
And they went up on the breadth of the earth,
and compassed the camp of the saints about,
and the beloved city:
and fire came down from God
out of heaven, and devoured them.”

Do not love the world,
nor the things in or of it
for, to your soul . . .
there’s no lasting benefit.
For, the world’s full of pride,
promoting fleshly lust
to its godless customs
you mustn’t ever adjust.
Do not become a part,
of the world’s ways
do not on its sinful desires
let your heart set its gaze.
For, if you do you’ll find,
it’s so easy to conform
as the world’s proven to be
satan’s earthly platform.
Do not love the world,
for it is perishing . . .
there is nothing in it
worth you cherishing!
~~~~~~~
1 John 2:15-17
“Love not the world,
neither the things
that are in the world.
If any man love the world,
the love of the Father
is not in him.
For all that is in the world,
the lust of the flesh,
and the lust of the eyes,
and the pride of life,
is not of the Father,
but is of the world.
And the world passeth away,
and the lust thereof:
but he that doeth the will
of God abideth for ever.”
When we walk in the light,
we will recognize sin
we will see the darkness
that still creeps within.
We will see the rebellion,
of our old wicked ways
we will smell the stench
of our own spiritual decay.
When we walk in the light,
we will see all the wrong
we will know to this world
we no longer belong.
We will see our greediness,
our lusts for former things
we’ll know not to fall again
into the traps they bring.
When we walk in the light,
from temptation we will flee
for the light shines brighter
then the darkness we see!
1 John 1:7
“But if we walk in the light,
as he is in the light,
we have fellowship one with
another, and the blood of
Jesus Christ his Son
cleanseth us from all sin.”
Guilty pleasures,
we mustn’t indulge in
for what we’re doing
is just playing with sin.
Guilt is God’s way,
to instill in us . . .
after worldly desires
we mustn’t lust.
Guilty pleasures,
we cannot regard
to these temptations
we must be on guard.
When we take pleasure,
in any worldly thing
we will feel the shame
these activities bring.
Guilty pleasures,
are never innocent
to their allurement
we can’t be ignorant.
As Christians we mustn’t be,
to the world conformed
against guilty pleasures . . .
we must always be armed!
therefore enjoy pleasure:
Lord, create in me a clean heart,
remove the effects of sin
dissolve the worldly pollution
it has been degenerating in.
Treat the sickness of evil,
on Your Word let me feed
till every commandment
I earnestly start to heed.
Give me a heart spotless,
remove damnation’s crust
eradicate the remains
of lingering greed andย lust.
Heal my spiritual apathy,
cure the horrible disease
of indifference and idleness
till I no longer do as I please.
Lord, create in me a clean heart,
remove sin’s stubborn stain
let me keep Your every Word
so in You, I’ll always remain!
~~~~~~~~
Psalm 119:9-11
“Wherewithal shall
a young man cleanse his way?
by taking heed thereto
according to thy word.
With my whole heart
have I sought thee:
O let me not wander
from thy commandments.
Thy word have I hid
in mine heart, that I might not
sin against thee.
