Adding To Your Faith ~
Once you have faith,
you mustn’t stop there
you need to add to it
more things with care.
To your faith add virtue,
and you will be pure
for faith and virtue
is ungodly living’s cure.
To virtue add knowledge,
it is the wisdom of life
for faith with knowledge
will cause you no strife.
To knowledge add self-control
in all the things you do
for faith and self-control
lets the light of God shine through.
To self-control add perseverance,
you will need it to faithfully run
for faith and perseverance
is the only way the race is won.
To perseverance add godliness,
in all that you say and do
then charity and brotherly kindness
will ooze right out of you!
~~~~~~~~~~
“And beside this, giving all diligence,
add to your faith virtue;
and to virtue knowledge;
And to knowledge temperance;
and to temperance patience;
and to patience godliness;
And to godliness brotherly kindness;
and to brotherly kindness charity.
Living In the Light ~
When you live in the light,
of eternity . . .
you live a life of hope
peace and serenity.
When you live in anticipation,
of Jesus’ return . . .
you live with conviction
care and concern.
When you live in expectation,
of a future Kingdom
you live with godliness . . .
righteousness and wisdom.
When you live in hopefulness,
of a coming glorious day . . .
you live with diligence
mindfulness to God’s way.
When you live in the light,
of eternity . . .
you live a life of power
hope and certainty!
~~~~~~~~
“Seeing then that all these things
shall be dissolved, what manner of
persons ought ye to be in all holy
conversation and godliness,
Looking for and hasting unto the coming
of the day of God, wherein the heavens
being on fire shall be dissolved, and
the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Nevertheless we, according to his promise,
look for new heavens and a new earth,
wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look
for such things, be diligent that ye may
be found of him in peace, without spot,
and blameless.”

Two Roads, One Path ~
There are two roads,
two different destinies
one has a remedy
the other has penalties.
One leads to heaven,
the other one to hell
both determine where
in eternity we will dwell.
One takes endurance,
strength and firmness
one takes indifference
greed and worldliness.
Each one of us,
has a decision to make
we must choose the road
we are willing to take.
There are two different roads,
but only one true path
that will lead us away . . .
from knowing God’s wrath!

“Enter ye in at the strait gate:
for wide is the gate, and broad
is the way, that leadeth to
destruction, and many there
be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate,
and narrow is the way,
which leadeth unto life,
and few there be that find it.”

God Forbid ~
God forbid, I accept His grace,
then continue in my sin
shall I not let the old man die
so He can have victory within?
Is not holiness or godliness,
a thought not just to entertain
but one that I must put on
if in Christ, I am to remain?
Is grace so freeing,
that God’s Word plays no part
or shall it be every temptation
still takes hold of my heart?
Am I not to cast off the rags,
of my unrighteousness
or do I still hold onto the filth
the fallen state of my wickedness?
God forbid, I accept His grace,
asking Him for more and more
God forbid, I continue in my sin
and expect to enter heaven’s door!
~~~~~~~~
Romans 6:2
King James Version
“What shall we say then?
Shall we continue in sin,
that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we,
that are dead to sin,
live any longer therein?”
