Freed Indeed ~

I am free,
freed of rules and regulations
free to follow Jesus
without any lawful stipulations.

I am free,
freed of doubt and fear
free to follow Jesus
with joyousness and cheer.

I am free,
freed from sin and temptation
free to follow Jesus
on the road to salvation.

I am free,
freed of stress and strife
free to follow Jesus
now that I’ve given Him my life.

I am free,
freed I am indeed
free to follow Jesus
for He is all I need!

If Jesus Were to Ask ~

If Jesus were to ask me,
right here, right now today
to give up all I have . . .
and with Him, to walk away.

Would I stop and turn,
look back with deep regret
for all that I’d be leaving
would I be sad or upset?

If Jesus were to say to me,
abandon all you truly cherish
would I bid farewell . . .
to all I honestly do relish?

Would I rather hold on to,
all my worldly possessions
or would I willingly let go of
all my earthly obsessions?

If Jesus were to ask me,
to leave with Him today
to give up all I have . . .
what would, to Him, I say?

Walk Gently My Friend ~

Walk gently my friend,
let your faith guide you
into all of God’s truths
no matter what you do.

Walk gently my friend,
trust God and His plan
when you’re not sure
just hold onto His hand.

Walk gently my friend,
let hope lead the way
whenever you’re in doubt
just stop and pray.

Walk gently my friend,
be aware of the darkness
if you happen upon it . . .
never think it is harmless.

Walk gently my friend,
there’s a lot evil out there
be careful lest you may fall
into one of Satan’s snares!

Pick Up Your Cross ~

A life-long position is open,
you can apply for it today
hours are quite flexible
it is available night or day.

No experience required,
no “works” quota to meet
breaks are long and plentiful
the pay, just can’t be beat.

Wonderful daily perks,
amazing long-term pension
those who are in charge
are too generous to mention.

There are no restrictions,
this job has no restraints
you will be treated fairly
if you have any complaints.

If you’re a willing applicant,
Jesus will be your boss
but, you must be able . . .
to pick up your own cross!

Don’t Worry . . . Trust ~

Don’t worry about tomorrow,
give no thought to what lies ahead
for, Jesus wants you to trust Him
not to live in fear and dread.

Don’t be concerned about the future,
give no thought to where you’ll be
for, Jesus wants you to go to Him
not to panic over what you can’t see.

Don’t stress  about the unfamiliar,
give no thought to what you don’t know
for, Jesus wants you to follow Him
so His plans for you, He can show.

Don’t fret about tomorrow,
give no thought in what you hear
for, Jesus wants to take care of you . . .
so there’s no need for you to fear!
