Breaking The Chain of Pain ~
Living in the past,
is so easy to do . . .
it’s not hard to recall
the bad things done to you.
Letting go is not so simple,
there’s no effort in hanging on
and to forget the past images
takes an awful lot of brawn.
So, we live with the despair,
the heartaches and the pain
and the peace God promised
our misery will only drain.
It’s not until we come,
to a place where we forgive
that we find the tranquility
in which God wants us to live.
So, if you are in the shackles,
which bind you to the past
let Jesus release your burden
and you’ll be free at last!

and he shall sustain thee:
he shall never suffer the
righteous to be moved.”

Good Things ~
I cling no longer,
on the edge of loss
for I’ve placed my sorrow
up on the cross.
I sit no longer,
on the edge of despair
for I stand on knowing
God hears my prayer.
I hold no longer,
on the edge of grief
I’m free in knowing
God’s love spells relief.
I hang no longer,
on the edge of fear
I’m fixed on knowing
God is always near.
Though my pain,
at times is hard to take
I know good things
out of it God will make!

Let Trust Rule ~
If trust is to rule,
our mind and heart
then from God
we mustn’t depart.
For we know for us,
He has only the best
and on this truth
our souls can rest.
If trust is to dispel,
our fears and doubts
then the Word of God
we mustn’t shut out.
For in His Word,
we see all He is able
to keep our trust in Him
strong and stable.
When trust becomes,
to God our link . . .
into dread and despair
we will not sink!

afraid of evil tidings:
his heart is fixed,
trusting in the Lord.”

My Focus is On Jesus ~
I focus not, on my grief,
nor those who caused my loss
I focus in on my Savior . . . .
all He did for me, on the cross.
I focus not, on my pain,
nor the reason for my sorrow
I focus on the eyes of God . . .
who sees, this broken sparrow.
I focus not on my heartache,
nor the cause of all my tears
I focus in on the assurance . . .
Jesus is the cure, for my fears.
I focus not on my anguish,
nor the misery of my despair
I focus in on the love of God . . .
knowing my heart, He’ll repair.
I focus not on my grief,
nor my loss, sorrow or the pain
I focus in on the hope I have . . .
when Jesus comes again to reign!
