~ My Blogging Awards ~

I use to get awards,
for all of my earthly goings
been named in Who’s Who
for all of my worldly doings.

Got me some plagues,
and quite a few trophies
but over the time . . .
they’ve become useless to me.

Now I am blogging,
and getting some notice
but I want you to know
I am just His novice.

I’m grateful for the honor,
of your faithful vote
but I need to decline
for I don’t like to gloat.

You see I have learned,
all of my real treasures
come from above
in God’s timing and measure.

But I want to say thank you,
for appreciating my story . . .
and it’s to God that I give
all the praise and glory!

~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you to those who have given me a blogger award . . .
may God bless your blogging ministry . . . Amen and Amen!
In Him,
Deborah Ann
    I really love the way your poems touches peoples hearts and We should always go to god when we need help with things that are frustrating. I told my aunt about you and I was going to show her your website but i didn’t have my laptop and My uncle was upstairs working and Me and my aunt were outside working on the weeds that grow during the spring and Cutting the grass stuff in the backyard and my uncle already cut the grass. I love your poems and I hope you and your family Has a blessed day today.
    I got your permission to use some of your poetry last Fall for our Women’s Retreat (Seasons of Life) in Racine, WI. Our theme this year is “The Game of Life). Would you be inspired to write us a theme poem for our women at Evangelical United Methodist Church??? Thanks
    Aww… I just saw this part of your page. I have to say, I love your poem (and poems in general). I’m sorry I didn’t see it sooner. However, I did nominate you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. I fully understand your decline of awards, but I do want to let you know that I am truly thankful for the work you are doing here, and hope that through these nominations more people will be inspired by the words you write. Blessings.
    Deborah Ann, like minds we are I do believe. I too have declared both of my blogs “no award” blogs for the same reason. The only award/reward I seek is to be His child and live so He takes me home to live with Him some day. Bless you and thanks for following both of my blogs.
    I have nominated you for the Versatile bloggers award! http://versatilebloggeraward.wordpress.com/
    You don’t have to accept but should you choose to this is what you need to do.
    -Thank the person who gave you this award. That’s common courtesy.
    Include a link to their blog. That’s also common courtesy — if you can figure out how to do it.
    – Next, select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly. ( I would
    add, pick blogs or bloggers that are excellent!)
    – Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award
    – Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.
    Good Luck! God bless!
    Forgive me Deborah, I nominated you for an award without realizing that you do not accept awards. Please feel no pressure to respond. It was done out of love, and I don’t require you to accept it or to even acknowledge it. God bless you and I will try to remember that you don’t receive awards (but my memory is not the greatest, so if I forget, please forgive me.
    God bless you,
      Cheryl, Thank you for the nomination ~ to be truthful I would love to post the awards on my site ~ I like the recognition and the fact that other’s are being blessed by the poems I am posting. But, that is a pride thing for me and the Lord is letting me know that I am doing this for Him and I need to leave myself out of it. So I decline, but I feel your love and that is an reward in itself! ~ Blessings ~
        I understand. I battled with this myself, because I don’t want to be prideful, but in my case, the Lord spoke to my heart and told me that it was prideful for me not to accept. (It’s funny how we humans are) He told me that it blesses others when they bless me, and it also blesses others when I bless them… So – I want to be a blessing, not a stumbling stone. And regardless, your poetry truly is a blessing that glorifies God, which is why I follow you and read it. 🙂 Many blessings to you, my friend!
          Yes, we are a “Peculiar People” and I love how He speaks to each of our hearts in different ways. But, I can see your point . . . about being a blessing . . . if I were to look at the awards as something to pass on to bless and encourage others . . . and not just to hold on for myself . . . pride would than be removed. Something to pray about. You could never be a stumbling stone as your words are edifying and always giving the glory to your Savior and God. ~ Blessings to you too, my friend ~ Don’t you just love how we can call each other friends because of the common bond we have in Jesus! 🙂
