~ Words From My Heart ~

I Love Jesus free photo by David Elgena # 5344

I was born into the family of God when I was ten years old and have rededicated my life almost every day since. I believe my walk with the Lord, is step-by-step, hour-by-hour, and sometimes minute-by-minute.

Each day, I press on towards the goal in front of me, to be more like Jesus, but I often fail.

By His grace and mercy, I can always count on Jesus to pick me up and set me back on His path. One day, I know I will be perfect and my walk with Him will be as it should, but until I see Him in heaven . . . I just keep on keeping on . . .

Thank you for reading my poetry. I pray God will use it to speak to those who are in need of the words He inspires me with and that God will bless you and guide you into all of His truths.

in Him,
Deborah Ann

Philippians 3:12-14

Not as though I had already attained,
either were already perfect: but I
follow after, if that I may apprehend
that for which also I am apprehended
of Christ Jesus.

Brethren, I count not myself to have
apprehended: but this one thing I do,
forgetting those things which are behind,
and reaching forth unto those things
which are before,

I press toward the mark for the prize
of the high calling of
God in Christ Jesus.

Hello Deborah, thank you for this beautiful poetry. This Sunday I’ll be preaching on Ps 23:2 “He leads me beside still waters.” Because of the pandemic we are currently recording our worship and then live streaming it.
I’m wondering if I could read your poem “Those Still Waters” beside a small stream feature at our church and then have the camera focus on the stream for about a minute. I would be a great blessing to St Paul Presbyterian Church in Johnston, Iowa, where I serve.

    Hi Deborah,
You’ve been a blessing to me esp. your peotry on 1 Peter 5:7, very timely and it relates to me and other people for sure. I just started writing songs for my local Church music group (here in the Philippines).. can we please use your poetry as lyrics of songs? Thanks for being a blessing, keep on encouraging the body for God’s glory.

If you ever need graphics design help (logo, business card, posters, postcard..), let me know, I would love to do it for you for free. I love doing graphics design, it’s my hobby.

Hi Deborah, I was just thinking about you the other day . . . so I am happy to hear from you. How are you doing? All is well here and yes “God has my back” and every other part of me as He carries me through most days. It is amazing what He has done in my life since I lost my son, and I am in awe of His love and grace for me, for without it who knows where I would be emotionally. I do pray He too is working in your life and that He blesses you with everything that is good about Him. Such a wonderful God we serve and love, there just isn’t any other like Him. ~ Praying you and your will have a blessed Thanksgiving season ~ Deborah Ann

Hello Deborah Thank you for your reply- sorry it has taken this long to make contact. I have enjoyed the beautiful song- Putting On The New Man! Sounds amazing. Life here in Queensland is not without challenges but because I experience God’s faithfulness and grace I have hope. We don’t do Thanksgiving. I have to make an effort for Christmas as I don’t cope with the commercial slant. We have just received some much needed ground drenching rain. Hopefully this Summer will be less dry than the past 2 years. We get our rain in the Summer here. I trust that you and all of your family have a blessed Christmas and that you don’t get too exhausted in the process. I love reading your poetry every day- thank you so very much – love Deborah.

I pray you get some good rain where I live I pray for less rain as we get 40+ inches every year no matter what! I am glad you are still reading my poems and I pray God will bless you with what He gives me. May you and yours have a very merry CHRISTmas one that is full of peace, joy and hope! Love Deborah Ann

I want to tell you that on Sunday August 5th; my Husband died unexpectantly in a motor bike accident. He was a godly man aged 66 and worked for 16 years as a Prison Chaplain. The shock is hard but my faith in God is the only thing that I hold dearly and know that God will help me get thorough this. May God continue to bless your beautiful heart today and always- Deborah Garrott.

Also thank you for praying for me when I went away recently. I was challenged in many ways. We had gone to visit some children who were orphaned as a result of a typhoon. They live in a slum area. One lady(now a new friend) told me that she had been praying for 2 years for me to visit her. I was unaware of that before I met her. My Husband had gone there back in 2011. I do not know why I went but I am sure that God knows! God bless you exceedingly and abundantly love Deborah.
