When I say I’m born again,
I mean that God has changed me
from the inside out . . .
in ways you might not see.
When I tell you I’ve repented,
I mean to God I have turned back
from my old sinful ways . . .
that kept me off the narrow track.
When I speak to you of God’s mercy,
I’m saying it’s something I don’t deserve
it’s only out of His abundant goodness
that for me He had some on reserve.
When I talk about my faith in Jesus,
I’m telling you it’s all about His grace
for without the Holy Spirit’s power
I would have no strength for this race.
When I say I am a new creature,
what to you I am really saying
Jesus knew that the old one was . . .
worth Him dying for and saving!
~~~~~~~~
Therefore if any man be in Christ,
he is a new creature:
old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new.
